CynB, I'm not sure. Its a 2 to 2 and a half hour drive to Brisbane in good traffic from here and I don't ever drive it (I don't do city traffic) so I think I'd have to drive to Robina and get the train up to Southbank. It would be interesting to meet, though.

Being an Aussie and hearing less about your upcoming presidential race - I keep getting my words mixed between Obama and the World's Biggest Rat Ever Osama. I wonder if anyone has embarrassed themselves introducing Obama?

I heard one older black man say on the news a few days ago that this is the first time where democratic candidates provided blacks with a choice between good and good; I assumed he was referring to Clinton and Obama.

Martha: maybe. But a McCain presidency would give us a leader who was exactly the same age (at the end of an eight-year term) as Ho Chi Minh was when he defeated the most powerful nation on earth.

Prediction: McCain and Obama will be the nominees. And McCain's running-mate will be Colin Powell.

I thought one of the benefits of this site was to get a perspective on what was going on all over the world. I know I learned a lot about John Howard.

I predict McCain will win. This, in my opinion, is one of those elections where the choices are bad, worse and worst.

We got up to 10F above today (-13C) Supposed to be nearing the mid 20's (-1C I think) by the weekend. Yay!

We had a local boy (one of our county commissioners) who jumped into the presidential race, but the Georgia Republication party wouldn't even put him on the Georgia ballot. He sold his businesses to finance his campaign, went to Iowa, NH and SC. He probably had the best shot in SC and he got exactly 23 votes. If you're not married to the party (either one), you don't stand a chance.

If I lived in the US, I'd be fighting for a first - first female or first black prez. I'd be a bit concerned though about the chance of assassination. Is it my imagination, or are there a lot of radicals loose in the world?

Martha, I refuse to vote for someone just because of the color of their skin or what gender they are. I will only vote with the candidate who most closely matches the things I stand firm on.

Um, what his parents knew nothing about the human digestive system, or the bit that tends to go cancerous if you don't eat your vegies and fruit?
