Liz, perhaps all those special French characters where qwerty has numbers are one reason their keyboard is different . . .

GannieMo, Anne, Billy, Steve...sounds like you are all having a great time. Sleep well tonight and at it again tomorrow with Anne added. Wish we were all there.

Have a wonderful time and also throw one back for me. By the time y'all get through throwing one back for all of us, you may have drank the place dry.

There's a item called a 'Butter Bell,' popular in France. You pack butter into a porcelain cone, which sits upside down in another porcelain jar with water in the bottom. The seal provided by the water lets you keep butter at room temperature for weeks without spoiling. See: http://www.butterbell.com/

Have a fantabulous time in Perth, everyone!
3:40 - probably some kind of a record for me!

Susan, Ed does have my address. I'd love to see the pic. Back Tues. Enjoy.

More on the Butter Bell...if you search eBay for ''Butter Bell,'' you'll see a wide variety of shapes and sizes, most of them for $5-10 (US). A culinary store near you should carry them.

Billy, Ganniemo, I think we have the full phone number so don't be surprised if you get a call for across the pond!

SUSAN - I learnt to type at school in Scotland on the qwerty keyboard; came out here and had to learn the french one, but am so used to it now that going back to qwerty is very hard; When I was there this summer I popped into the chatroom on here and couldn't be bothered looking for the letters so More...

Thanks to everyone posting info about the phone number! I knew there had to be country codes in there someplace, and I think we have it figured out. I hope to get through, have may alarm on my phone set and will do my best!

Cool! Someone submitted a picture of a dead cat!

SUSAN - Robyn is coming home for the weekend and she is bringing her cards and letters to show us! You would not believe how much she has enjoyed getting them all and she always calls home when she gets another. The people here who have written to her have earned bonus angel points!

I had a butter bell years ago and I heartily recommend it to anyone. My wife made us switch to margarine 20 years ago and she threw it out so I would eat food that was lower in cholesterol.

Truth be told, I still eat butter and my cholesterol is much lower than hers!

Wish I could be in Perth right now...
 |  |
I guess this makes me a CP!

Kitty cat, kitty cat, where have you been? We've looked for you in the Utah national parks, and the fertile farms of Nova Scotia, even way out there in Australia. And you turn up in someone's living room!

Good Thursday Maen, all!

GannieMo--I did ask someone what Chinese-writing folks use for a computer keyboard! She told me that 1) the standard keyboard is used for pinyin (eg, Beijing) or 2) a keyboard that uses parts of the Chinese calligraphy and you put together the parts to make the correct characters. Oy! Guess it's a learning experience...

Hey Glenn,
Read some of Dr. Atkins' books--you'll see you are on the right track. The butter is much better for you than the margarine. I wish my college daughter would come home this weekend! All 3 girls are gone at once! I'll be trying to talk to the pets.

CINJI - I still have one daughter in high school. She won't graduate and go off to college until 2009 - which seems like it is getting closer and closer all the time...

She is going to be chalking at Downtown Disney all this weekend for their annual Festival of the More...
 |  |
Glenn, How cool about the chalk art! I am a watercolor artist and I so admire what can be done in the medium of chalk. Kinda like soft pastels with the canvas being concrete!!

A quick update for all of you following my post divorce escapades..I have been a bit absent here of late as I posted a personal ad on a local website and have been meeting lots of men. The most surreal experience was a lunch date yesterday with some guy who turned out to be a client of my ex for 14 More...
