GannieMo - are you going to post some new pictures of your garden? I love all the photos you posted earlier in the summer.

At the moment Jane it is very much a work in progress. We are marking out paths and have decided to have no grass at all, but to have herbacious beds. Hence the propogation going on. As soon as I have planted out my spring bulbs and pansies the green house will be full of cuttings. My friends are getting used to me visiting them armed with my trusty garden knife and little plastic bags.

In the garden dept of a local store today I found some shrubs past their best and reduced by 30% so I bought a Leptospernum, another Forsythia, and a Caryopteris. Theses will form the background to one of the beds and each one flowers during a different season.
My spell checker doesn't like More...

Apparently Leptospernum is also known as the New Zealand Tea Tree

Because it should be spelt 'leptospermum'. My spell checker doesn't like it either, but my dictionary loves it.

There is a lot of information to be found at

You are correct Ian, spelling after a day in the sun is never good. Of course this shrub is well known in NZ and a little south of you.

I am going to have to rethink its placement as several sites that I have consulted say it needs protection from frosts.

What I would really like is a Pohutukawa tree, but that would never grow here

GMo, I was raised in Melbourne and am very familiar with the shrub/tree, it grows naturally along the coastal strips and is a pretty tough old thing.

Start both the 11 minute timer and the 7 minute timer simultaneously. When the 7 minute timer runs out, start boiling the egg. The 11 minute timer will have 4 minutes remaining. When those 4 minutes have passed, turn the 11 minute timer back over. When it finishes, the egg will have had 4 + 11 minutes in the boiling water.
