Eve - when we were at Calistoga, we visited the Chateau Montelena winery. I liked the cabernet so much that I bought a case of it. It was about $13 a bottle back then..........The last time I checked, it was about $40 to over $100 depending on the vintage.

Oh, and Shosho, that particular girls' outing wasn't a college-chum group. We were (and still are) friends dating back to Brownie Scout days in Crystal Lake, Illinois! Next year we'll all be attending our 50th (gasp!) high school reunion!

Now it's time to bike to the beach for our afternoon swim - followed by a $1 "happy hour" beer at The Beachcomber! Oh, I do love retirement!!!!
