Not until the last relay - the French were favored and had guaranteed a win - the American men won by 0.07 seconds and smashed the world record.
Looks like there are some really good, young Aussie women swimmers.

I've never quite understood women's gymnastics. Those aren't women. they're agile little children. There should be an 18 yr. old minimum to compete in the "adult" Olympics. My opinion only.

Yes I think where most of 'our' medals will come from, cycling is pretty strong but time will tell.

Well Heidi, if the women where in my shape it would be hilarious.

I must head to bed - have to be up for physical therapy in the morning.

Unfortunately for our children when they're pressed into hard strenuous practice their growth is stunted. Compare the girl gymnasts to other girls. And what do we say about the adult trainers who press them on to the detriment of their health? No wonder drugs like steroids become so popular.

oh my goodness!! that usa 4x100 relay win was a jump off the couch moment!! i also loved the 33 year old gymnast from germany. way to go lady!! maybe i can go for the 2012 olympics as a 40 year old gymnast. i had better begin my training right away, starting with getting plenty of rest. very important, sooo, goodnight!

all. Hope life is bringing you all you need. Been watching a story about children neglected by drug addicted parents. How sad, for the grandparents, the parents and the children (one died). And what a contrast to the Olympic Games and how wonderful the human body can be. We are capable of so much, how I wish all that energy could be directed towards a wise loving kindness.

At least kindness is present in some places.
