Susan, Garden Party is an old song that was sung by a guy named Ricky Nelson----he looked really cute and from what I understand died young in a plane crash. I will try to find the lyrics I am referring to. I love old songs, got that from my Dad.

I'm going to jump in on the talk of teens and parties: my daughter's 14, and I'm kinda freaking out about her crowd of friends. They're good kids, but they're all paired off as couples, pledging their love to each other, etc. Argghh!!

CHAS - I guess 'breeze' is not the right term then. I have met many fabulous parents who display the qualities that Susan does, and they have fewer difficulties with their children than many others.

We are back in the heat of So Calif after our Alaskan cruise!

Mom had lots of fun (her 1st cruise) and so did we

At my 14-year-old's school, some kids were 'dating' in 6th grade! My dau is only allowed to go out with a group of kids, but even with that restriction, they have paired off and consider themselves to be couples. These kids seem to be way advanced in their bio'l knowledge, if you know what I mean.

GrannieMo, thanks I have several of his CD's. I think he was a very good singer. Odd but we watched an old movie last night--My husband is a John Wayne fan and it had Ricky Nelson in it acting and singing. It was Rio Bravo, Dean Martin was in it too---boy can he sing!

Ricky Nelson always looked like he was asleep during performances. He was either a very low key indivudal or stoned all the time!

Posting comments makes for a disjointed kind of conversation, but oh well. JUDE, You're right about being able to drive somewhere (from San D.)and get other weather. I have seen old weekly shows of him too. Ozzie and Harriet were his parents. I like the old shows, they are really good and I can let my kids watch them without having my hand on the clicker.
