GannieMo - I'm busy planning my itinerary. Good for you for getting this group active again! I've copied a post I made just before changeover regarding the "state of the site" since it may have been overlooked being so late in the day:

Thank you Jane, yes rather than cut and run when you don't like change try to fix the break.
My itinerary is down to about 8 stops now so getting there (I started with 12) amazing what you can do overland. We did London-Bali-Perth- Aukland-Sydney-Singapore-London a few years ago for real, so if More...

Didn't mean to just single out western Australia, would like to visit all of Australia but the eastern half overlapped Japan. And GannieMo did say once we started traveling we could only go that direction. I chose east (well I know it zigzags north-south but it is an eastern route!). If I didn't have family concerns I'd take a looooonnnggg time before I'd return home!

Had to go see Jim's posts...Shosho - you had me so curious! We had Bimbo when I lived in Vallarta, Mexico...they do make sweets!

We have eaten Bimbo in Spain.

Yes in LA we do have Bimbo but mainly the Hispanic food area. I found it was founded in 1945 in Mexico and is an upwardly mobile company. They just started importing to China.

I just googled "Bimbo" (a company I'd never heard of), and I was shocked to find that the Bimbo company owns Boboli, Entenmann's and Thomas', among other brands. So what started out in 1945 as a quaint little bakery in Mexico is now an international conglomerate, gobbling up all the little independent guys!!!

And now I'm going to make a late lunch: Baked Thomas' English muffins (oops! I mean "Bimbo" English muffins) with a crabby-cheesy-custardy topping.

will check out your youtube now.

Appy's Youtube is about the strangest I've ever seen. Great music though.

I found it very bizarre...mind boggling - yet entertaining and dark.
Been wandering through appy's gallery.

To Robert and to Lorraine19832003.

South Florida is currently under a tropical storm watch or hurricane watch depending on where you live. One district cancelled school for tomorrow. Waiting to hear if mine cancelled tomorrow. I could use an extra day of summer vacation. It would be the first time school was closed due to weather on the first day of the school year.

I meant the appy's youtube - not appy's gallery

Tami - fingers crossed for you! I have meetings all week - UGH.

They already closed Miami-Dade and Monroe County schools. They are supposed to announce Broward County, where I live, by 3:30. It is now 3:17 my time. It should not be too bad of a storm but it is not safe for the buses or the kids walking.
18/Aug/08 5:18 AM

Jamie, enjoy your meetings. We had them all last week getting ready for the kids. I spent to week getting my room ready and I am not ready to go back. I could use the day off.

YEAH!!!! I am off on Monday. They just announce Broward schools will be closed on Monday, they will update us about Tuesday. According to the online reports, the worst is supposed to be Tuesday. I may have an extra 2 day vacation.

Fingers crossed for you & everyone in the Broward area, Tami. We're waiting to see whether Fay will head up our way on Tuesday. First day of school will go as planned tomorrow, but then kids & TEACHERS may get to stay home on Tues. We're as ready as we can be at our house. Now it's just a matter of wait & see.

Judy, growing up in Florida I never had a snow day. We were blessed by not having a hurricane for over 20 years. My first "weather" day came after I became a teacher. Teachers always are counting down more than the students.

Kathy, My thoughts will be with you later in the week. I am prepared. I don't think it will be too bad.

Vici, that itinerary sounds fantastic! Wish I was going with you...

Susan, the only time I have been to Perth - I was about 11 years old - I walked across Kings Park. I mostly remember the black swans..

) when I go to Australia.
