I have no idea. I don't think I've ever got a Cup winner in a sweep in the last 50 years. I just hope Alcopop wins as it will be a rags to riches story of a young guy and the first half decent horse he has ever trained up against all the International horses and Australia's top trainers. More...

Thank you, andré. I am not really sure what a Glindaglory is, although I like the sound of it.

Alcopop? Oh thank god...I thought you said Agloco.

saylz - I hope Alcopop wins too but it's such a favourite it won't pay the punters very well. My hubby won the trifecta the year Ethereal won - $12,500 - not bad for someone who only bets once a year.

CynB and anyone else who is interested.
Go to this link and you can print off the sweep.

Ian, you could try melting the stilton but it might be in vein. Or Glinda could trim the top of the trees in the forest, and then you could try forestroccoli and stilton soup, with a hint of ginger!

I watched a wonderful programme tonight called 'Country File' on the good old Aunty. Part of the programme was about an old fishing port in Craster. Craster is world famous for its smoked herring kippers, the shame of it is that they have to import them now as there are no herring fishermen left. More...

My hubby loves kippers. Maybe I should buy him some as it's his birthday today and I haven't even had time to buy him a card yet.
He was born on Melbourne cup day - and his mother won the sweep at the hospital as well!
Happy Birthday to CynB's grandson Lachie at 3:33 today.

I do have to say, the above comment and offered me the chance to remain outside and enjoy the full moon over my yard - while finishing up raking the leaves.

A papa mole, a mama mole, and a baby mole, all live together in
a little mole hole. One day, papa mole sticks his head out of the
hole, sniffs the air and said, ' Yum! I smell maple syrup!'

said, 'Oh, Yum! I smell More...

Ah, language, don'cha love it...

"Thanks Amelia, I'll pass on your best wishes."

Does that mean that the best wishes will be relayed to another person, or that the best wishes are politely declined?

Colo Jim: Google may not charge for it, but many cell phone agreements count 800 numbers against your minutes, so that part may not be completely free.

Don't worry about Stilton being 'in vein'. Just wait for the day the health police decide that cheese cholesterol is good for you. While you wait eat plenty of cheese of course.

Here is a somewhat different challenge for you all today/tomorrow.

I drank one small cup of regular coffee and a McD's sweet tea yesterday (before mid-afternoon) and the caffeine kept me up then tossing and strange dreams when I did try to sleep.

Mary, I'll take the teenage boy if he splits and stacks firewood, does farm chores that involve poop, washes his own dishes and laundry, eats what's for dinner and does his schoolwork without complaining. Oh, and he has to go to church. Any volunteers? Didn't think so. Bet he likes it really well with you, actually. Tell him to straighten up or off he goes!

Jaz ... whew. That's one puzzle I've decided to "sweep" under the rug and forget about. Those names are hard to work with. Definite A for effort. The name Daffodil is a real standout for seeming less than serious. So I shall put my Sudokuland currency on her (him?). What are the odds to win?
