Kathy when you bet the object is to gain more money, not give it to the betting office! Oh well, you must be feeling rather poorly about it. LOL Here have some and a to cheer up.

Yes, I remember when gay meant happy!
(To quote Seinfeld - Not that there's anything wrong with that!)
In Australia, men call their friends "Mates" but usually women call their friends "girlfriends" - there's just no other appropriate term.

I like to use straightforward words in straightforward ways. Why not call your females friends just plain "friends." I see no reason to make a gender distinction. Maybe I'm from the 22nd century, but for me there's no big difference between men and women in platonic relationships.

For all of us blue-eyed Sudokuist, I prefer to think of us as UNIQUE, not mutants.

People with blue eyes have a single, common ancestor, according to new research.

A team of scientists has tracked down a genetic mutation that leads to blue eyes. The mutation occurred between 6,000 More...

Someone I knew in college (who was not actually taking classes) told me that I'm typical Aquarian. (I was born in the summer.)

Once I made an appointment with an ophthamologist at a rather presitgious clinic, because my eyes were getting very sensitive to the light.

1. When I got More...

Finally. A spacey woman at a party in Boston asked me, "What sign were you born under?" I said, "No Parking."

Of course, when you drive into the city of Boston, there's a sign that says, "Entering Boston. No Parking."

Michael from Boston, at what age is the cut-off point for remembering/using the term "chum" to describe a friend regardless of gender? And then there is "pal". That worked until the interesting girl down the road acquired a golden lab she named Pal and there were three or four More...

Julie and Suzy - regarding the blue eyes discussion that has been touched on, I saw a homeopathy practitioner (homeopathist?) about 7 years ago when I was trying to solve a health problem that conventional medicine hadn't fixed. She informed me that my brown eyes were caused by toxins in my body More...

Shosho - I did the opposite with my neighbours last year. It was their 50th Wedding Anniversary and without thinking I wrote congratulations on their 25th in the card I gave them. I felt a real idiot.

When we move house should we leave a few Dust Bunnies for the new occupants,or take ours with us? Would they interbreed? The winter is the time of procreation for the said DB's and I would hate to move them on in their engorged condition. What are the rules concerning DB's and moving house? Is More...

Thank you all for your kind words/emails/private messages etc, in regard to my animation of Ian’s Photo. But unfortunately, I cannot take full credit; all I did was resize the picture and loaded it up onto a site I stumbled across recently. More...

Julie:
Your post about blue eyes is very interesting. The blue colour is due to less iris pigment than in darker eyes (an iris is blue in the same way as the sky is blue - from fine particles). It seems likely that less iris pigment in an eye will allow more light in. In winter this will More...
