OK-OK, thanks to Google, I answered my own question. http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/ Texas A&M is a University specializing in Agricultural Training.

To Kathy of Valrico, Fl: I will have to take my family to Sea World and Kennedy Space Center. When my sister was in Florida, she got to watch a night launch. I guess it was amazing! My girls are 5, 7, and 11. Hopefully I can get into the teacher resource center and collect some great souveniors of our visit. :)

kim from texas, it takes so long for pictures to get shown on easy that most likely they've been on the crossword or jigsaw or word search or kakuro before they get shown here.

Quilter Mom's Maen on page 1 is a link to the definition, but Mary's (also page 1) is not. Does only the first one per page become a link, or is it only the first one in a day?
 |  |

If this Maen is not, then I have my answer.
 |  |
Hi! Keith, I guess that answers that!
 |  |

Thanks Gath. People have been asking for a long time for a definition to be put somewhere. Clever way to do it.

Dave From Oregon/Arizona - I found out that according to Wikipedia an 'Aggie' is a queer sailor.

OldHickory says that the Texas A & M's mascot is an 'Aggie' - is there an explanation to this?

So I have to ask again - What is an Aggie? C'mon guys, come clean!!!!

what a sweetie pie! takes me back when my younger son was 3, he loved the pony he was on and was waving his cowboy hat. a year later, same pony but this time he was not a happy camper, and sat there glumly.

EQUAL BUT NOT THE SAME
'Equal' is not always synonymous with 'the same.' Men and women are created equal. But, boys and girls are not born the same

HUGH/DAVE - just dropped back in after walking Mocha (my Springer Spaniel). Texas A&M was ORIGINALLY the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (hence the A&M). But it is now much more than that, so the A and the M don't really 'stand' for that anymore. There are A&M's in several other More...

OMG ... I thought HUGH was pulling my leg (any time, Hugh), but it's true! I consulted Wikipedia, and that is one of the definitions of ''Aggie!'' Holy smokes! JAMIE, you had better get back on the site and straighten things out! LOL

Good Saturday Maen, all!

The wind seems to have calmed down over here (down to 3mph per computer) with an expected high of 64 degrees F.

Off to do some chores...

A little boy opened the big and old family Bible with fascination, looking at the old pages as he turned them. Then something fell out of the Bible and he picked up and looked at it closely. It was an old leaf from a tree. The leaf had been pressed in between pages.

Thanks for the explanation, Jamie - I'm glad you're not all 'queer sailors', LOL.

Gee, my friends who went to the University of Texas (A&M's rival) said that 'Aggie' was synonymous with 'country bumpkin!' LOL Hook 'em, horns! (That oughta rile 'em up)

'night, HUGH!

Hey, KEITH!

Thanks for pointing out the link on each page Keith. I knew Gath had added the information and a link, but I hadn't paid attention to where the link showed up. Good to see the guys this morning, and Hugh and AP were both in fine joke form. GannieMo also had a couple of goodies on page 4 on yesterday's comments.

Good afternoon to all! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Minus 14 celcius and going to minus 21 tonight. Now that's more like winter in Ottawa!

I'm looking for some information from any Aussies from Melbourne about Saverio Rocca. Our football team, The Philadelphia Eagles seem to be ready to sign him to punt(kick) the ball on the team. It's said that he retired from the Melbourne Kangeroos and is 33 years old. I'd like to know a little more about him. He'll have to learn about our style of play too. Just curious.

AP: Still haven't adjusted your body clock yet? You're no longer in Boston!
 |  |

I have that feeling of deja vu today!
 |  |

Hmmm, well that's interesting, I got 1:51, and I was all excited, until I saw the picture and realized, I've done this puzzle before. Unless it's a new puzzle with an old picture. Oh well. Still fun to be under 2.
CORKY/GANNIE/CG~ thanks for your help with the westjet/google info

VAL and AMELIA~ It's been a bit since you posted on my page, but I wanted to say thanks!

For those interested,

There is a different picture on my page..

JIM from Jupiter - I don't want to even put in print what many Aggies call those from the University of Texas! Of course, hopefully we know that both groups are drawing very broad generalizations about the other!! My parents have degrees from each university, so I don't think I buy into either set of descriptions.
 |  |

ANEW! That hurt just to look at it. Goes fairly well with the safe-driving picture.
Question for those of us in the Colorado area - what is the weather supposed to be like mid-week? Jeanie and I are supposed to fly in Thursday for a family party.

about to be snowed on! pic is sweet, but prefer yesterday's scary cat than someone else's kid on a horse. what's the deal on the tennis game everyone's chattin' about, am i missing some sort of world event?

aving seen two of Fi's pictures on the Kids Sudoku, I'm wondering..... has anyone heard from Fiona lately? Are you out there Fi??

2:08. You're in good form today Hugh. Love the one about the RAAFie chappies, but I'm not so sure CP will!
 |  |
Mamacita 2 - Sav Rocca has been one of the few players able to hold his head high in a team that hasn't performed well for some years now. His ability to punt the ball (straight) was the main reason he was in the 'Roos and he's very, very good at it.
 |  |

jamie, prediction is 47 on Thurs, highs of 35 through the weekend only 10% chance of precipitation. Of course, this is Colorado. We have been known to shovel 3-6'' of partly cloudy off of our driveways! .
Would you be too busy for a Sudoku Colorado get together?
 |  |

Sarah Beth - thanks for the info. I think almost every minute is accounted for - it is Jeanie's brother's 50th birhtday, and they really do those things up big. However, I haven't really been filled in on the schedule. I hope to sit down with Jeanie this weekend and find out what is going on.
