Jeb, thank you for your vote of confidence on my working on one from my bucket list! I will look into your sources!
Jamie, how's the shoulder?
Mamacita, how's my little sweetheart. She will be a beauty!

Whoooops! Now where's that broom Angie said she left in the museum? It's never there you need it! Just had to slip and slide into the next page! I must learn to do with dignity or at least with a broom! Or maybe Jeb's vacuum cleaner!

jeb - strange but my shower went cold for 22 minutes precisely at that very minute you imputed your data (don't worry I wrapped it in a blanket)... are we talkin meltdown or just temporary loss of weather, I'm prepared got my vacuum flask ready... and my best fluffy slippers...

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I missed six whole pages of tennis (& other things!) talk on Jan. 25 & both Australia Day & Republic Day on Jan. 26. Sounded (read) like you had lots of fun!!!

andré: you could use the "jebvac" rather than a broom with boosters that burn on your next trip to Perth. Rather than suck put it in exhaust mode. Watch out for pollution - you never know what it may have in the bag picked up from turning pages.

Jeb, your opinion poll swept me off my feet. Also your admission that you do cleaning (I thought only Ian in Sydney did that sort of thing). If you would like to visit, I could use a hand. Bring a shotgun, NOT a vacuum cleaner, as I have REALLY REALLY big dust bunnies here.

Jeb, an excellent analysis. I think Al Gore could use it for his next book, "An Inconvenient Vac." I understand it is already a NY Times Best Seller, although months away from publication. It's findings will probably become part of the Clinton platform, resulting in a tax hike every 22 seconds.

It's a cool 15C (59F) here this morning, but still 95% humidity. It made me wonder, in England where 25C is considered to be hot, at what temp do you set your thermostats?

Mymare - I shot a 59 the first time and 36 the second time. The reason such a difference was a 9 + a 7 over par in the first round. BTW: I played this course before about a year ago.

I thought the use of units in this paragraph was interesting. Check out which units are in brackets..

The temples and palaces required thousands of large stone blocks. Working in summer temperatures of 40C (104F), the workers would have had to chisel these out of the rock and transport them 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the quarries to the city.

Suzy: Just a guess, but I think it's because the author of that paragraph is English, where the normal way to express temperature is Centigrade, but miles are still used rather than kilometers. I stand to be corrected by posters from the UK.

MizTricia, World Without End is the title you are looking for. It was given to me for Christmas but I have had to reread Pillars of the Earth before starting it. I read Pillars so long ago, I had totally forgotten what it was about!

CG, I am intrigued by the idea of a dust bunny hunt. But first, a few questions. Will this be a guided hunt? Will we hunt with the aid of beagles? What is the bag limit, need to know how many shells to load, and are special permits needed? Will a standard field charge with a 1 oz. shot load More...

Hi MizTricia and Kate
I too was given World Without End for Christmas. I'm halfway through and am finding it as compelling as Pillars, I love the way history is made interesting.

Janie, I do think you will enjoy the Pollars of the EArth book. I am looking forward to reading the second, and I got it today!! World Without End. I do hope I am not disapointed, have been by the later books of a series by a few authors in the past. Another 1000 pages, yeah!

Morning all. I hate it when I've been away from this site for long enough that it takes me ages to catch up - it's less than 24 hours but that equalled about 10 pages of reading!

To Kathy (Valrico) - thanks for the birthday wishes. I have now accepted being 60 - mainly because it doesn't feel any different. I had a lovely birthday and party (photos on my page). We did like "The Water Horse" - it put a new slant on Nessie. My 7yo grand-daughter came out of the cinema and said "I believe that's true, do you Nanny?"

Well, I seem to have missed the morning chat here - that's what I get for reading the Sunday paper first. Hi to Sharlene, Broni, Victoria, Susan and others - my fellow Queenslanders and all of Sudokuland. Back later - housework to do. Ugghhh!
