I know it gets changed in some parts of Australia. I think only Queensland doesn't change. As to the US I don't think they do it anywhere.

Thanks Jamie, CG and Rose. I've bookmarked all the suggestions and will talk to his mum soon. I'll be seeing them on Wednesday and staying for a few days.

Any other suggestions from sudokuers will be put into my bookmarks. Its great to have your help.

They are blowing an absolute gale up here too, Cazablanka. Have been since I first got up this morning. Haven't ventured further than this room mind you, so I don't know what its like on the roads. I can't hear any chainsaws so there mustn't be any trees down, yet!

GrannieMo and Rayray, we put our clocks forward one hour last night. Not sure if all the states that do it also did theirs last night and there are some states that don't have daylight saving.

Putting your clocks forward is good but spare a thought for us parents of young children. No child wants to go to bed when the sun is still shinning. By the time you get them in from playing and have a bath its after 9.00. To late for a six year old.

Spring Ahead - Fall Back. That means tonight we set our clocks back, except in some places like Hawaii and AZ which stay on Standard Time all year.

If Australia sets their's ahead that makes a two hour change from current. And the difference between Pacific Coast & Australia will a day less 5 hours, rather than a day less 7 hours. I think?

Rayray, we do have what we call "day light savings" It'll be about November 4 when we set our clocks one hour back and about March or was it April when we set it one hour earlier. It's "fall back and spring forward"!

Eve- please don't change your clock tonight - wait til NEXT Sat. night!!

Jane: Congratulations to the D'wags in their vicotry over the Gators.

PSU is leading - but it is early. At 1 1/2 minutes UCLA was winning:

At half time UCLA is trailing by a field goal to WASU.

WASU should be a team that they easily beat, however we lost to Utah & More...

Kathy - I forgot they changed the date from the last Sunday in October to first Sunday in November. It must make it tough on the airlines.

Ok so the Sudoku change over will be an hour early this week and the following week 2 hours earlier.

Cazablanka, exactly!!! I have memories of trying to put my now almost 19yo son to bed with the sun still shining. My husband works by the sun, not by the clock, as do most agricultural and pastoral people, which are the 2 reasons why I am so glad that Queensland doesn't have daylight savings, and More...

Susan: I didn't propose any idea about time-changes. I just questioned what they were.

Shosho: I like the "fall back spring forward" memory jog

I think Mazda, who is still with us, and posting really exciting messages, must be our site psychotic. We must look after him/her. Can anyone suggest medication to assist with the dissociation?
28/Oct/07 10:58 AM

Medication for us Rayray, now that may be a better idea as we are still up and running at this time of night!!

I know Rayray!! My mention of daylight savings was just a comment as to why some people in Australia oppose it, and my reference to being 14 years too late, was about a twin brother for my 14 yo son to job share with that you joked about in a previous post. :o)

and I thought Mazda was a make of car so perhaps there is a reference to number plates?

...almost turned full circle for the almost 19yo now. Son #1 home from uni for the weekend and last night had a big night (still sleeping) and I think that while he's at uni he sometimes has trouble getting to bed BEFORE the sun starts shining.
