Glinda: The toaster problem is obvious. You have not applied the proper amount of duck tape to the object a hand. Liberal use of duck tape will mend/fix/repair anything with two or more moving parts. I would surmise that if you have used duck tape on your toaster and it still doesn't work More...

SpadeScorpio: You could always come up with a worse job inside that makes shoveling snow a much better option. Reward them, or do what we did--get a snow blower. Our son LOVES to use the snow blower. BTW--- I always wondered if you get as much snow on the north shore of Lake Ontario as we do on the south shore. What is you annual snow fall amount?

Have given toaster problem serious consideration.... conclude that you may not have had it plugged in & your '4 hour toast' was in fact, stale bread. Did you notice that it was a bit paler than normal?? ;-)

auntcooky I think I like your idea of a worse job inside...I have no idea what annual snowfall amount is...over the past couple years though, it has not been very much...we didn't even have snow until February this year...but when it came, it came! Winters used to be much much worse when I was a kid.

Glinda, I would say that the problem with your toaster is not with the toaster but the user. Obviously, since if you press the toaster too hard it doesn't work, you have too many muscles in your arms, therefore you should use another part of your anatomy - like your foot, elbow, nose. That should work!!

...speaking about other parts of your anatomy...
André - I am in my straightjacket which is why I am typing with my nose. The staff have very kindly infused each key on the board with an odour. It does not take me too long now to snifftype - I particularly like the key 'g' (gin).
