Billy - good win by the Force. Raining here in Canberra - not so good for the Brumbies.

And the Waratahs - every time we need them to win for us, they let us down.... It's no wonder I dislike them, ptui!!!

no, the questions I am asking are just for personal information. I am interested to see how we have embraced technology and or whether we have it available to us.
We seem to have a great cross section of community from all parts of the world and it is interesting to know how technology has spread. by all means add to the information wherever you would like to.

Today, it's called golf

Hugh, a couple of centuries ago it became a slang word used in place of child. Maybe some behaviors of young goats reminded people of their children (hiding, putting everything in their mouths, climbing, etc.).

Rosemary, broadband with wireless capabilities. We had dialup for a long time because broadband wasn't available in our area. Very frustrating for tech minded hubby. I plodded along, didn't mind it too much, but now I am so spoiled by broadband!

Rosemary, I've got a laptop and a desktop pooter, mobile phone, cable broadband with a wireless router (sitting outside at the moment), foxtel and large bills coming in every month to pay for all the technology I can't seem to live without. Never really thought I'd embraced the range of technology that I have! Must have moved into the 21st century without noticing...

ROSEMARY, broadband DSL high speed here, with our own network, all 3 computers can be online at once. DSL just recently available here in the boonies and we were the first to sign up! Before that, we had a satelite dish with a dial up back up system, because we got 'rain fade' too often. I could More...

Rosemary, I'm determined to stay in the loop as best I can, therefore I have just (in the last 3 days) upgraded to broadband DSL so that I could better enjoy 'Youtube'. Dial up was becoming far too slow for my advancing interest and involvement with the computer! In other words...I just didn't want to be left behind!

Thank you Hugh. There was some lovely ball handling last night - poetry in motion...(I'm talking about the game here)
Mary - you cannot even begin to compare the two games, none of the players last night would even know what a quiche was. Crowd numbers were a little down though - just under 25,000. Maybe with the final homegame next week we may get more.

My Ma first got a mobile phone at age 67 - 7 years ago, and well before I did - and she's still got the same one, quite a brick! My Da only got one last year – he's 74 now.

Hey Glenn,

I'm from PA and am a Heinz 57 mix, but because of my color preferences mom always said I was Amish at heart. I also have several Bill Coleman photos. Some purchased at WP art show years ago.

Maybe we are related.

Latex Gloves

A dentist noticed that his next patient, an elderly lady, was looking very nervous so he decided to tell her a little joke as he put on his gloves.

Good Maen everyone! It is 3:36 am in SA and I am wide awake - have 9 teenagers, girls and boys, staying over! Lots of noise and laughter! I go past them every now and then to make sure all OK! Have had hot 3 cups of hot chocolate and 2 huge mugs of tea! Strange how it makes me feel guilty checking up on them all the time!!

Rosemary: I've had a 'cell' phone since the onset when it was truly a mobile phone---it was a bag phone; have a razr now, but don't know how to use all of it's capabilities yet. My sons have had cell phones since in high school ten yrs ago. We have two desktop computers, my laptop and my hubby's notebook; broadband with wireless router keep us connected.

rosemary, we have broadband, but more for because it frees up our landline than for speed. I read in the paper that Australian broadband (starting at 512kb/sec) is a joke compared to other countries, and shouldn't even be classified as broadband. My son's uni has the fastest broadband in our state. More...
