CP, Suzy, and others. The fires in BC are for the most part contained. The Terrace mountain fire flared with high winds and is threatening West Kelowna again, but firefighters are saying they will keep it controlled. Your friends and family, like my daughter Kelly, remain safe.

Very interesting and I am certainly glad to know how to type these symboles. Only one ?? or clarification.
They all seem to work except sometimes the Alt + 13 = â, ♪ ▼ ♪ or a square, Alt +14 = a square, ♫, or the sign for female. what makes the difference? ♫♫♫♫
now I can type 99¢ or 110°F. That's Great!!

Okay, just experimenting and all the numbers from one on up have a symbol when typed Alt+ number.Starting with Alt+65= A you can type the alphabet. 1,2,3,4 are card suits. Alt+ 12=♀ and Alt +11 = ♂ so guess I was hitting wrong numbers earlier, or my keypad was miss reading.
This is fun!

Home early from work - yay! Basically too decrepit to continue today, feeling very old, and walking like a feeble 90 year old. Just "nurse's back" pain, but really bad at the moment!

I knew how to do é but not much else. Now I find that if I press the function key on my laptop I can use the numbers at the top. Thanks Ian, I always feel embarrassed if I'm posting a comment to André from my laptop and can't get the acute on the 'e'. Have to try it yet though.
