We're back from the cruise, but still staying in a B&B in New Orleans. Thank you so much for the messages of sympathy left on my page. After I get back home, I'll answer them properly. The sadness continues but gets easier to take as time goes on.

I've just had a couple of wild days - my 12yo accidently dropped VB on her head on Friday afternoon, at which point VB started vomiting and I'm thinking concussion and my 12yo is in hysterics. So I ring my doctor who advises me to visit a hospital so they can observe More...

Oh Rose what a horrible experience! Had a similar experience with my older son when he was a baby. He had fallen out of my bed and I was in near hysterics. I couldn't get him to the emergency room fast enough. Of course he was fine but for a while I kept blaming myself over and over. VB will recover sooner than you and your 12 yo.child.

Oh, Rose! Glad you unloaded! That's a little too much to deal with alone! Hopefully things go better tonight for you all. I bet you will crash when hubby comes home!

Rose, hope things get better...had a similar experience, but not to this much serious....my son fell off from hubby's hands (at an age of only 8 months), say around 4 to 4 and a half feet and went thru all the agonies you have just mentioned..so i can understand what kind of mental strain you More...

hey he was a brilliant student,and completed his masters with VLSI specialization, to be absorbed in a leading company, right from the campus..so may be VB will also have some exceptional intelligence!!!(hope that lift your spirit Rose..)

Rose, so sorry about your emergency room trips! We were lucky enough not to drop either of ours, but d2 managed to bump into so many things without help that we got to know the observation ritual off by heart. We used to 'joke' that she had a permanent bump on her head - it just moved.

Rose, sorry to hear about the events of the day, but so glad you could vent here. Probably none of us has made it through our own infancy and childhood, nor our children and grandchildren, without some untoward drop/fall/spill, etc. You did the right thing to seek medical help, and that's all that could be done. Take Appy's good advice and plan for an outstanding college and career in her future!
