Here's a joke that might slip thru the filter and not ruffle too many feathers.
A father was taking his ten year old daughter for a walk through their rather large backyard. Being spring time there was a lot of emerging animal and insect life and they spent some time identifying and admiring More...

If you have not noticed, I have returned, and still dancing.
Wonderful, OB appointment. Other than the little one is growing rapidly and doing wonderfully, I learned that I have not gained 19+ pounds since the beginning. I have only gained 10 but lost one, so at the moment I am at the same as More...

Good morning all.
Good news Karen - keep those feet up and, aboce all, keep out of that room!
31/Mar/09 11:11 AM

That should be 'above' not aboce.
And, Karen, dance sitting down with your feet up, if you can.

everyone!
Dad's back hobbling around. I have to scold him to not overdo it! But the stubborn cuss claims, "I'm fine, I"m fine!" I can see mtself doing the same with my sons!

I need some advise. My younger son would love to have his father visit him in NC but hubby dear gets claustrophobic in small areas for a long period of time. What can I dope him up with so that he'll consent to boarding a jet? I'll need to talk to his doctor but he did a while back offer something to ease the phobic part.

You could whack him over the head, Shosho ...
31/Mar/09 1:07 PM
 |  |

I could try that but how do you sneak up quietly with a big bat then try to cart a body that stands a head over me to the airport? Just thinking of how I could go through security with a limp body gives me the heebie jeebies!
31/Mar/09 1:22 PM

or as we say in the South, smack him upside the haid.
31/Mar/09 1:26 PM

Shosho - is your grandson talking yet? All it might take would be for him to ask his grandfather over the phone to come and visit him and your hubby might forget his phobias.
(BTW - I agree with him. I simply loathe flying these days. I think I have watched too many episodes of Air Crash Investigation!)

I'm don't mind flying but I hate the confinement. I'm okay for 60 or 90 minutes but that's about my limit. When I have to fly for 4 or 5 hours I take two 5mg valium and generally they have to wake me when we start landing.
They're prescription only and I don't know their availability Stateside. I'm big so a smaller person would take a lower dose.

Saylz - We flew from Brisbane to Perth last year. It was a 5 hour flight and the headwinds caused the worst turbulence I ever struck. It was horrible. Coming back with a tailwind took 3.75 hours with no turbulence. Even flying to London and back was fine except for the long hours in transit. Wish I'd thought of Valium!

Hey Cynthia, it was worth going thru the 'worst turbulence you ever struck'! You got to meet such wonderful Perthites! and not only that, the wonderful Perthites got to meet you !!

I'm fine on a jet but you won't get me in a prop job again! I'm short so when even I had to duck my head to get it, I knew I was in trouble! Then I watched the engine start. No one told me that they turn on one propeller then the other. I kept getting more and more nervous thinking how we'd fly More...

It didn't help when the pilot announced that the snacks were coming. They'd push the cart real fast down the aisle and when it the hit the midship bump, whatever we caught was our snack?!?!
31/Mar/09 3:12 PM
 |  |

I kind of guessed it was a small plane when I asked if my seat was an aisle seat or a window one. The answer was both!
31/Mar/09 3:13 PM
 |  |

Actual I rode on the second plane because I was removed from the first one because the stewardess said flying through the Tule fog, it was either me or extra fuel. And the pilot opted for the fuel!

This must be a familiar picture. I found myself "thinking" the song before the label appeared. There was some focus on the bridge at Avignon during last year's Tour de France, hence the familiarity. Sadly, I've never seen it "in the flesh".

Just back from long lunch. Salt & Pepper Calimari, Greek Salad and a glass of pinot blanc. Very nice indeed.
CynB - I'm going to Perth briefly in September. Leave Hobart at 4.30pm Saturday and then leave Perth at midnight Sunday. Have to make sure I don't overdose on the way over otherwise I More...

Now Saylz, if you're going to Perth, don't forget to organise to meet the Perthites. As Rolanda said, it's worth the turbulence!!

Each year he sent her roses,
And the note would always say,
I love you even more this year,
Than last year on this day.
My love for you will always grow,

That the roses would appear.
She thought, he ordered More...

The roses will come every year,
And they will only stop,
When your door's not answered,
When the florist stops to knock.
He will come five times that day,
In case! You have gone out.
But after his last visit,
He will know without a doubt!
To take the roses to the More...

I heard this on the radio this afternoon. A computer virus that is set to strike on 1st April. Apparently if you update your Windows regularly, it should be OK. But they really don't know what the consequences will be - or if it will be a fizzer like the Y2K bug.
