I'm pleased no one noticed (or were at least too polite to comment) that I said Sam Stosur's next match was Saturday morning. It was a surprise to wake up this morning to hear she had won. Home from work tonight to watch the replay.

I wouldn't be relying on the current BP efforts being any more successful than what they have done previously. Everything will be done as cheaply as they think they will get away with.

Having said that, Australia had a similar incident about 12 months ago but it was contained much more quickly as it was in much shallower water.

Perhaps I need to lighten up.
The teenage granddaughter comes downstairs for her date with this see-through blouse on and no bra. Her grandmother just has a fit, telling her not to dare go out like that.
The teenager tells her "Loosen up Grams. These are modern times. You gotta let your More...

You know your on the downhill run when:

You’ve come to the annoying realization that your parents were right about almost everything.

The bag boy volunteers to help load groceries into your car—in the “ten items or less” lane.

You’ve stopped supporting your children, and More...

2:09 Good morning everyone!
Goodness me, I had just written but thankfully not submitted, that it was the last of my grandchildren's birthdays today with Bailey turning two.
My grand-daughter Hayley would never forgive me forgetting her as she turns ten next week. Old age!!!
04/Jun/10 11:18 AM
 |  |
Anne, are Hayley and Bailey siblings?
04/Jun/10 11:41 AM
 |  |

Hello Doug, no, they're cousins. Hayley belongs to my daughter up north who has three girls, and Bailey belongs to my daughter in Albany who has two sons. My son also has two boys.

Back to say all is well - don't have to repeat the performance for 5 years this time.

I told the doctor's nurse (also his wife) that I'd really rather not meet them this way - could we have coffee in Manuka instead?
04/Jun/10 12:41 PM

Manuka is trendy upmarket shopping area in Canberra's leafy suburbs.

Oh, and BTW, call me a masochist but I have my colonoscopies done without sedation (or pain relief) - and survive!!
04/Jun/10 12:42 PM
 |  |

Pain is no worse and much more transient than a bad bout of Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
04/Jun/10 12:43 PM
 |  |

I have a greater fear of not remembering what happens when I am vulnerable and unaware than I do of the discomfort!
04/Jun/10 12:44 PM
 |  |

Maybe because I am totally familiar with what the procedure involves, I am less worried than most people.
04/Jun/10 12:45 PM

Also, I am a stickybeak, and find seeing my insides fascinating - and this way I get to see any polyps and where they are first hand.
04/Jun/10 12:47 PM
 |  |

So I'm not after a medal for bravery, just wanted to let you know it isn't as bad as most fear, and if you're like me more scared of being sedated, doing it without sedation is possible.

Good afternoon all!
Anne, my grandie Hayley and your grandie Hayley are only about 3 weeks apart in age. My Hayley turned 10 on 21/5. Must have been a good year for the name?

Jerry - really like the posters. Have a son living in AZ, and the daughter of a good friend, too. They hadn't seen them but think they are well done and to the point.

Interesting Anne. I was looking at the similar sounding names, with quite different spellings. You can tell I am having a quiet day at work!!

Uh, oh, Doug, you obviously spoke too soon.
Not to worry, only an hour and a half to go to knock off time (unless you are perhaps a teacher) then you've got a long weekend ahead of you. Enjoy it!

I forgot to say that when I got home and checked my letterbox, there was a rather large envelope in there. I had won a DVD of "Bran Nue Dae" in our local newspaper. I had only just treated my daughters to a copy each when it was released the other week.
