I don't mean the mindless junk that shows up in the morning newspaper. I mean some real thought, homework, and critical analysis.

It is difficult to accept the fact that you do any ''extensive reading'' or research when you repeat the sound-bite stuff that comes from the news agencies. The blanket statement that the oceans are doomed and the unqualified pronouncement that we should all eat farmed fish demonstrates a less than in-depth familiarity with the issues.
