i just read over the postings from the weekend, so i missed out responding then.

we also watched the eclipse. just above the tree line - it was fabulous. also watch the space shuttle fly over thursday nite. it seemed to be on a path from Houston, Tx toward New Orleans. pretty cool.
yep, i'm a star gazer (also a birdwatcher)

WARREN: On strike? Whassup?

JEB: I'm sure that the Titleist would suffice!

ROB: Are we supposed to guess the acronym again??

SUSAN: Very funny! :)

everyone...a little overcast today in Yuma.

Susan, thank you for that story. It will help me be more tactful with my wife....

I tried to start a topic yesterday about first or favorite car. No one followed up.
 |  |

Very cute picture. My daughters are long ago grown. I miss those times. They go by so fast.
 |  |
OK, DAVE ... my first car was a brand-new '68 Firebird, Corvette Orange, received as a gift when I graduated from college. It was hot ... and so was I!! :)
 |  |

And my first car was a 40 Ford convertible that I bought for $17.50. I ended up junking that car after I took the engine out and used some of the parts on my 39 Ford coupe. That 40 Ford would be worth 40-50 thousand today. Of course, this is some 45 years later.....
 |  |
So, you're a Ford man, Dave ... too bad ... LOL
 |  |

Not really Judy. I haven't owned or wanted to own a Ford until a couple years ago when I bought myself a toy. A 2003 Ford F150 Lightning. It is a pickup with a 480 horsepower supercharged motor. Fire engine red, lowered, etc. etc. I have owed a couple other classic Fords but mostly foreign cars.
 |  |
Whew ... that's good, DAVE! A half-ton truck with 480 HP? That thing must take flight when you rev it up! My hubby drives a three-quarter ton, heavy duty Chev ... red, too. Be careful, though ... you know what they say about men and their high-powered trucks ... something about compensation ... LOL

The car I learned to drive in was my dad's '49 Ford Coupe, but I have fond memories of my '58 Ford Fairlaine 500. I, too, wish I hadn't gotten rid of it. It was powder blue and white. However I'm now a Chevy man, and on my second S10.

everyone! I have been working on wine labels all morning. If you have an eye for color and a few minutes would you please visit my page and let me know if I got complimentary colors for the borders? Posted Monday, March 5, 11:10 a.m. Central Time, USA. We are bottling tonight and so I need to get them printed. Thanks in advance

andré - Nice balls you have there!

I meant in your avatar...

Judy, don't be messin' with Ford men! Everyone on in my family owns a ford excep for my daughter. Love them!
 |  |

Dave, I wasn't around yesterday but will answer you question today. My first car was a 1972 Gremlin , the best part of the car was the Pioneer stereo with 8-track player and speakers front and back, could really crank my AC/DC and Molly Hatchet tapes up when crusing!
 |  |

My favorite car was my 2nd car, cherry red 1976 Camero, LT, 350 engine, I was ! I had it until my son was born and it was not made to be a family car so away it went. Wish I had that baby now.

Strike! Strike! Strike! (I'm getting pumped up)
We have three unions at the college and the contracts expired last August. The admin wants faculty to give up tenure. They also want all non-admin employees to accept an inferior health plan with an increased co-pay. Of course salary is always an More...

Hey, we mess with Ford men all the time, LK! My husband has a hitch cover that says, ''Remove to tow Fords'' ... and we have actually done that!

I DO like your Camaro, though ... me in my 'Bird ... we could have had some good times! I lost mine, too, to the needs of babies. Sob!

LINDA, label on the left looks a bit too gold, orangy to me. The one on the right is PERFECT and that color would probably look well with the first one , In my opinion. I just pretended it was a quilt and color choices were easy :>)

2:15; cute pic.

My first car that I bought myself was a black Morris Minor, and she was marked at 50 pounds sterling, but I had to pay in instalments over 2 years as I was earning about 2 pounds per week. She was wonderful with leather upholstery and shining dash. The left and right indicators were supposed to More...

Thank you Trisha, I had the feeling it was to orangy, found a more muted color finally. After looking at them for a couple of hours, they all start to look the same. Thanks again
 |  |

Judy...when I bought my Lightning, I sent a picture to two friends who have worked for Ford for years. I wrote 'And Dave said he would never own a Ford....!!!'

Linda...on my computer, the colors look very good. I like the peach fuzz label.
 |  |
No sign of the G2 Yellow Dwarf Star today.
 |  |

Okay, changed the one label Trisha, if you are still around see what you think.

Thanks Dave, the Peach fuzz label is actually CC from florida's idea, she is very creative
 |  |

GrannieMo....Great little car and the British always had trouble with the electrical wiring or windscreen wipers. It looked like a little 49-50 Chevrolet to me.
I tried to get my wife to buy a Mini-Cooper when she bought her last new car, but it was just a little too impractical.
 |  |

LK - That looks good also. It will contrast with the wine very nicely.
 |  |

Thank you dave, the picture on your page would also make a very pretty wine label, very striking!

My first car was a '61 Triumph Spitfire that got a lot of work done on the undercarraige for road racing. That was traded in for a '63 Jaguar XKE that didn't need any extra work. It competed just fine as was. Really wish I had it now. It also helped snag my lifelong coed. (Or did she snag More...
 |  |
PS: The Jaguar came with a 4 track player.

Linda, by jove I think you've got it! I like both of them, Very classy, Lady. I love the still life on both of them, but I am partial to peach in any form. I live in the part of Alabama that grows peaches, and area peach trees are very close to blooming. Maybe I should take my camera with me and snap photos of an orchard full of peach blooms.

My son's cub scout patrol did the 'puppy gift' joke as a skit once. Pretty funny!
 |  |
LK/MN: I think they are beautiful! Good work.
 |  |
The last Ford I owned was the Ford Pinto. That cured me of wanting any more Fords. I went from that to the Pontiac Astre. That cured me of wanting any more Pontiacs. I went from that to the 1979 Honda Accord. Enough said.
 |  |
Morning all, cute photo, anyone notice the colour of the hair on the girl and the puppy almost match.
 |  |
Learned to drive in a '39 Dodge pickup when I was 12 years old. Dad wished he had sons instead of two daughters, I believe. The car I married was a '58 Austin Healy 100-6, but my first very own car was a '68 Olds Cutlass that got 6 to 8 MPG and used a quart of oil every 1,000 miles brand new! Looked great, drove fast and, then, that's all I cared about!
 |  |

Thanks for all the input everybody, they are being printed as I type, mostly the peach fuzz label, but also some of the still life ones, a little nicer looking to give as a gift.
 |  |
I learned to drive in the family's 1963 Chevy II Nova, 3 on the column, 6 cyl. Later it was my car till I bought my brother's wrecked 1968 Camaro. I fixed the undercarriage, drove it 2 months and it was totalled out from under me by an idiot running a red light. That paid off the note and I got a More...
