Last time there was a kangaroo picture I asked if they could be kept as pets, and someone answered that he (or she) had had one but they don't do well away from their packs. So I guess that means they can be domesticated, so long as you have several? But what kind of pets do they make -- are they friendly at all, do they intercat with you?

lol, I meant interACT not interCAT! Because CATS don't interACT unless it suits them!!! Funny typo, maybe it's a new word -- 'intercat' describes how cats interact -- which is, only at meal times, or when you are trying to get something done that allows you no free hand for petting.

I believe that it is not allowed to keep kangaroos as pets. However it they get hurt in the wild and a carer has to look after them they become quite used to humans and can't fend for themselves, however the carers then give them to a wild life park where they roam on large lots but are looked after.

it was I who had one and it did not so well, but more to do with nourishment. They ar elactose intolerant but it took me some time to realise!!!what a shame. Not sure if it is legal, but who would prosecute. I have seen them flourish away from their packs in the right care. they love interaction and need plenty of it. a great family pet on the whole.

the kangaroos are beatiful! My favorite stuffed animal from when I was a little girl was a kangaroo. I would love to meet these kangaroos in person.

Let kangaroos in nature. I saw pictures of them abandoned by their owners because they turned out to be not good pets. And definitely not good owers.

plenty of campsites around the south coast of nsw I know of where the roos are very friendly. unfortunately, many people ignore warnings not to feed them (also in Tasmania) and bread causes them gum diseases or something, I recall. Quite impressive when you wake in the morning to peer out the tent door and see them boxing just metres away.

The picture is of Euros not Kangaroos. They have shorter ears than Kangaroos and live in the hills not on the plains.
