Kathy, I've read the entire series, and I hesitate to say much about Frank (Claire's first husband) and give it away. In the second or third book, we find out what happens to him. In the first book, remember he's back in the 1900's while Claire is in the 1700's.

sorry to nit pick Jamie, but lots of us are busy at work and of course don't read to be tortured!! in fact those comments sound like you need to be certified Rofl: why do you get so personal? if some people don't care for the book you don't have to present your credentials to show how worthy your comments are.You enjoyed it, fine and dandy, just say so.

As a Scot I found the book extremely irritating as the author was very inconsistent with her use of the Scots dialect: for example, in the first part of a sentence Jamie would be using words such as 'verra' or 'wi' and later in the same sentence he would use 'very' and 'with'. This happened throughout and annoyed me so much that I abandoned the book!

Jamie - 'The Time Traveler's Wife' puts a different spin on the topic. I really enjoyed it. Audrey Niffenegger wrote it - her first novel.

I've read 5 of the Outlander novels and have just got the 6th in Swedish translation. Eagerly looking forward to start on it. At the same time I definetly agree with calling it potboiler literature (I've learned a new expression, lol).
But so what? It's like eating chocolate or other not too More...

I am 2/3 the way through Outlander. It a reasonably good read. Much more moderately paced than say one of Mathew Reilly's (I have just finished Scarecrow - it is exhausting in its pace) but has far more interest than say Ruth Rendall's 13 steps which I gave up on at chapter 4 as I was struggling to More...

and Diana Galbadan(?) is about the romance and not posing philisophical questions.

Sorry I missed the live time but wanted to put my thoughts down. I have reading problem so I 'ear read'.For this series it wa a must. I loved hearing the accent but wish she had let 'Jax' or some other Scot listen to fix all the mistakes. Iloved the first book because it gave the reader feel for More...

Lynne from CA - I haven't read the Outlander novels but have to agree with you on The Time Traveler's Wife - absolutely loved it and howled for the last twenty pages!! What is very interesting in this 'discussion' is the exchange of titles we've individually appreciated and which we can safely More...
