Hey...it's cool dude Kobe!!!

Mothers, can I ask you're opinion on a touchy subject... is it rude to discipline your friends' children in your own home? I've just spent the evening with my friend and her extremely ill mannered, tantrum throwing child where in the end I set a few rules and relevant disciplines... was I out of line?

2:32 Hello Kobe again. You were on here last night, I think it was.
 |  |

Hello Angry Ant, I'm sure you would have done it with tact and the mother should be disciplining her own children, especially in someone else's home. I don't think you were out of line.

Hi Kobe .
Aother nice picture but be care of sun and don't take off your sunglass.

Good mAen to everyone.

Angry ant I'd say that you should tell the child that 'we don't do things like that in this house' in a very polite tone so as not to make the parent angry.
 |  |
I agree with Steve. Let the child know that there are house rules that must be followed when visiting your home.
 |  |
No, Ant, and I'm not sure that I would invite the friend and her bratty child back to my home again!
 |  |
Angry Ant I agree with the others you had every right to say something if the childs mother did nothing.
 |  |

Angry Ant, you have the right to set and state the rules in your house. Children need boundaries, and studies prove that they are happier with boundaries.

kobe is so cute awake or asleep, he is a cool dude.

I believe that after seeing that the parent was allowing the child to misbehave in your house you are entitled to enlighten the child AND PARENT that there were rules to follow in your house and that the child was expected to follow them just like your own children do.
If the mother takes offence then thats just too bad.

3:03 One cool little fella!
Very well put Steve.

Angry Ant, I agree with the rest, there's nothing worse than an uncontrolable child, so cheers have a great day

AA - It was your house and you expect certain nehaviour to be observed in your house. Have you been to their house and does the child act the same there. Becuase if that is their normal behaviour you may find that on inviting the friend back then the child will behave no More...

No Angry, you were certainly not out of line - the line starts at your front fence. I think it is also much better for your own little Ants to see that you are consistent with disciplinery issues.

maeN everyone. Kobe, 'walking' is so exhausting, glad to see you could sqeeze in a nap. You are so cute.
AngryAnt, I think you were very generous and patient, putting up with the child's 'antics' to the point that you did. Maybe the child and parent both got a message about rules and discipline--way to go Ant!

Thank you for all your supportive comments, and my apologies Steve for just addressing my query to the mothers... it should have read 'parents'! Mini Ant was quite distressed at seeing her friend's antics, and when I asked her this morning if she had a good time with her friend, she answered 'no, I don't want her to come to my house again'. Kids pick up on everything!!! Thanks again.

Are you sure Kobe is asleep thought I could see a glint behind the sunnies. Well done Angry Ant I'm glad someone has the strength to put this kid right if it's own mother can't.
