1) First eliminations to 23 filled cells.
2) Look at only possibles 6 in Cc. Look at only possibles 9 in Cg. Remove some possibles.3) Look at only possibles 28 in b9g9. Then simple to 51 filled cells.
4) Looking at only possibles 8 in Cf, remove d1=2, d2=2, f2=2. Now easy to 54 filled cells.
5) Look at only possibles 2 in Be2. Remove some possibles. Now easy to unique solution.

Sorry for the outage this morning :(

why so few comments?
my time was 4:53, this one was easy.......i hope we get a harder one soon!!

Hi Baz and esther,
For measuring the toughness of a proof I use the number of links I needed for non-easy steps. This one required me 11 links, so I don't rate it easy compared to some others. If you found an easier solution, I'd gladly hear of it.

Due to comments, I thought I was gonna' get this one without fcs. Then there I was stuck at 51 finished, just as gb said. Used his hint #4 to finish. Happy Sunday from US midwest (though can't see any sun here...)

Shameless ignorance: Can someone explain how you use links? I assume it's a logical step beyond simple reduction or basic elimination (i.e., I know there can only be '8's in the first column in the first box, so therefore there can only be '8's in the third column in the second box), but how do you use them? Thanks! (And thanks, Gath, for this site!)

I can't believe it - only one guess!
I love this game.

Semi-tough; like the pix - keeps me warm in this frozen land

15:44 - That's a surprise considering I had to back track on a bit of a bungle I made. Certainly didn't expect the time I got! Enjoy your day!

Tough but made uncharacteristicly correct (calculated) guess at 51 and worked out from there.
I am in awe of you working out any system of toughness gb(france). I just figure I can do it or not. Assume my brain is either fast or slow.

Not so Tough and a 'puzzling' photo. Is it cooking the marshmallows? Hi all up here in Toughsville.

One man's guess is another man's trial and error is another man's proof. In the end it's just a question of degree...
