1) SSTS to UP 41.
2) (5)h4=(5-8)h2=(8-3)a2=a6-(3=5)c6 => c4<>5. UP 81.

farpointer, I agree with you that kraken notation is easier to understand than Steve's notation. I also think that your frequent use of groups rather than cells leads to a much more compact (and comprehensible) argument.

Here is my solution to the weekly extreme (#203) at http://sudoku.org.uk/WeeklySudoku.asp for 8-14 August.
One of the aspects of this puzzle was that the contents of the cells (5=8)h9 and (5=8)g5 must be the same, and the contents of (5=9)h2 and (5=9)i5 must also be the same. How does one state More...
