4:06, easy for a 'tough' one

Seemed easier than the hard.

I'm trying to follow this *full solution* but I can't. I *think* the rows are 1-9 and the columns are a-g. But this makes no sense. It says that g3=1, when I know that a1=1. Do the solution and the puzzle match? I'm looking at the tough sudoku from 17-12-2005. Thanks.

1. In row-1, 1 must be in d1 or f1, thus eliminating it from g1, h1 & i1; thus g3=1

Hi Jayceevee and Mazz:
The rows are numbered (1 to 9) from bottom to top. The columns (a to i) from left to right.

Success and even found the FC without assistance! Still painfully slow but getting better and great fun- I just don't believe these under 10 minute claims!

19:48 Fairly ordinary time for a relatively easy Tough puzzle. Not much chance of snowmen where I am!

hi TM, here is your proof reader; there is a typo in Step 20: instead of i9=7, h5=1 should read:
i7=9, i5=1. I hope you'll be forgiven and they won't cut off your salary - we need you here :)

1.UP=28
2.(8=3)h9 - e9 = e6 - (3=8)f5 => !(8)h5 UP=49
3.AUR(46)bi89 => (2)b9 UP=81.
