10:37 quite easy and logical
 |  |
I'm new, so not so easy for me; but I did finish it.

At last, something festive. Coming from a place that never snows I was really excited to see snow at the age of 23! i tried to make a snowman but we decided it looked more like a swamp monster!

8.19 We have been out looking at the houses decorated with Christmas lights tonight. Does this happen in all countries?
 |  |
No sign of Col, so I'll put a comment in here quickly before I do the puzzle ..

dave, you are a loser, you couldn't do it with logic alone; guessing is giving up!

Full Solution (usual disclaimers), Part 1

1. In row-1, 1 must be in d1 or f1, thus eliminating it from g1, h1 & i1; thus g3=1
2. In row-2, 2 must be in g2, h2 or i2, thus eliminating it from d2 & f2; thus e3=2
3. g8 & h9 must = 3 or 8; eliminate all other options from those two More...
 |  |
6. Simple elimination: a3=5
7. Just note that now b3 & c3 must = 7 or 9
8. In row-8, 7 must be in d8 or f8, thus eliminating it from a8, b8 or c8; thus c7=7
9. Simple elimination: c3=9, b3=7, a4=7, e7=4, g7=2
10. h7 & i7 must = 1 or 9; eliminate from i8 & i9
11. i8 & i9 must = 4 or 6; eliminate from other cells in column-i
 |  |
Part 3

12. a5 & i5 must = 1 or 2; eliminate from other cells in row-5
13. in column-b, 9 must be in b4 or b6; eliminate from b8 & b9
14. Looking at a2 = 6 or 8, can conclude that f5=3; proof: if a2=6, then f2=8 & f5=3; if a2=8, then d2=6, d5=4 & f5=3
15. Simple elimination: e9=3, More...
 |  |
Part 4

18. g1 & g2 must = 4 or 5; eliminate from other cells in column-g & 3x3
19. Simple elimination: i6=5, e6=8, e4=5, g6=6, g4=8, d4=4, h6=7, c8=8
20. Looking at c6 = 1 or 3, can concluded that a5=2; proof: if c6=1, then a5=2; if c6=3, then b1=3, h1=9, i9=7, h5=1, a5=2
21. More...

To Yvette:
I badly wish the 'b' could stand for BACK!

I am very new. This is my only second game.I would like to ask if you use the check moves button. With that it would be too easy..

stopped snowing as I finished blowing
Probably will continue
part of being a Canuk
wouldn't give it up

Great job, TM.
As we discussed yesterday we didn't use any trying/guessing/error as the step 20 is the chain 31/34/34/39/19/19/12/12 (octogon).
I didn't even use the step 14 as the '6' and '8' gently disappeared linked together in the whole grid (I guess the pairs I used were not exactly the same or not at the same time than yours TM).
 |  |
for me it was really dificult, but i did it
 |  |
I can't follow the proofs, I just had to make one guess though and got it all together (it was a real guess though...eenie meenie minie mo)
 |  |
09.56 Not bad. 'Automatically remove Possibilities' makes it so much easier than pencil and paper!
 |  |
Best time on a 'tough' for me so far, was this one easier or am I finally catching on a bit?
 |  |
Hadn't noticed that 'Automatically remove Possibilities', it would make housekeeping a bit easier. Will have to try it next time.

20:38 but with 2 guesses. Just can't seem to get the puzzles in this level without a guess or two except occasionally. Ah well, it used to take me about 40 minutes with the same number of guesses, so I guess I'm getting better.
 |  |
about 20 mins today; thanks, TM, your proof helped when I got stuck (#14 on your list), realized my mistake (wrong number in possibilities), then it was easy from there.

IS IT ME OR AM I LOVELY

14:03. That one was definately easy. Good old Christmastime snowman. See you all tomorrow.
