Interesting process. I have several pieces of batik since my sister lives in Indonesia where it is also made, but I have never used them. They are too pretty to cut up! Luckily the tablecloths and napkins are usable without cutting!

Phenomenal colours. Have you ever noticed that Oriental dragons fly, but have no wings, whereas European dragons have wings but don't fly? I'd never noticed until a former colleague pointed it out.

1)Start at 23,=>UP=25
2)Loop:(9=2)e4-d5=(2-9)i5=(9)f5,=>e6<>9,i5=29.UP=26
3)(3567=2)acgh8-(2=7)h7 -(7=5)f7,=>ac7,ef8<>5.UP=27
4)(5)b3=(5-2)i3=(2-9)i5=f5-f1=(9-5)e1=(5)e2,=>b2<>5.U P=28
5)(8)d123=(8-2)d5=(2-9)e4=(9-5)e1=(5)e2,=>e12<>8
After this step I gave up.

Hi Sotir.I only got to h4=5 (your step (2) yesterday.Today's seems to be another tough nut.I got to UP35 only.(b3=4 because of locked 4s at h12). Regards,Alfred.

Phew! I was looking for guidance today! I tried this at 1am and I also got to UP35 OK (look at the position of the 4s in columns A, H & F and therefore B3=4 ... then there's a domino effect on all the 3s and all but 2 of the 4s).

Then I got stuck. But I'm in great company!

Yesterday's I couldn't prove. Today's was tough as well. Every now and then I found chains of length 4 to 6, but it was slow going till the final one resolving a dual 18 choice in f7 that caused the final avalanche from UP 45 to UP 81
