Oh Echis! You look so comfy

Echis was with me for 15 years and was always able to find the coziest place to sleep! I named him after the genus name of the saw-scale viper, also known as Cleopatra's asp.

maen all! yeah, plum, the gal would like a cuddler but even the second and third generation barn cats here are still pretty feral...jack, the indoor cat, comes on the bed in the morning to wake us so he can be fed... he has a great internal clock. i'll say that much for him.

Was the kitty's name taken from what it sounded like disposing of a furball?

Hi All, I got to UP=36, but could not get any further. However, there is a 'backdoor' - e7<>2 gives UP=81, but I can find no logical explanation for this. Best regards, Neil

Hi Neil,
I also find difficulty to solve this one.
How you got to UP=36? using AIC or English translation? After UP=36 this one is solved,but need
another about 12 steps.You just let me know the step
for UP=31.

Hi Sotir.I got to UP34 like this:
1. UP28.
2. If b2=4,f2=8.Also b2<>4,locked 4s at b45,f6=4 makes f2=8.UP30.
3. If d2=6,e2=7,d4=4,f5=9,f8=1=e4,f6=2=e3=d9;column h is devoid of 2.So d2=4.UP 34.
Neil's UP35,36 may be h8=7=c9.
A promising idea is :if i2=9,b1=1(to avoid the 57 AUR at bg12),but I couldn't find a short chain after this. Alfred.

Just heard from Neil.UP35 is i6=1,because of c6=1=b1,d1=2=f5 and middle left box is devoid of 2.
Thanks Neil.

I find the way to solve this one.Very long,but interesting one:
1) Start at 23,=>UP=28
2)SF(4):f3=ac3-b2=b45-ac6=f6,=>a45c5f25<>4.Up=30
3)(1=2)d1-d9=e7-(2=1)e4,=& gt;d4e3<>1
4)Kraken row: (2)h369=>e3=7.UP=34
a)(2)h3-(2=7)e3

Sotir, Brilliant. Your step 5 to show c6<>1 was much more elegant than my attempt - and the rest was very interesting and informative as well. Best regards, Neil
