How sweet!
I wonder if Vici will bring one or two back in her suitcase after she lets out all of the US Sudokuists who tagged along?

Shiela - how I would LOVE to do that...wonder if it could make it's way through all the screening processes. We certainly have plenty of gum trees in California!

Judy, try as I might, I didn't see it!! I did get a prescription for new spectacles earlier this week, so may be things will improve soon!

The chain resolving the dual choice in e6 was simple enough (after e7 the wrong choice gives an obvious impossible situation on column h). Spotting the chain forbidding 2 from h1 took much longer...

1. Note pair 46 at bc2.Unique possibilities to 28.
2. If h8=8,h7=2=e3=i2,e7=3,e6=8=i5;column c is devoid of 8.So h8=1.UP30.
3. h6=3,whether h7=2 or 8.UP34.
4. If h5=4,h1=2=a3=f2,e3=4,e4=3,d4=9,g2=3,g1=1=b3=a4;b4 has no candidate.So h5=8.UPs to 81.

1)Start at 23,basic techniques to UP=28
2)(4)e4=(4-2)e3=e7-(2=8)h7-(8=1)h8-h6=(1-5)g4=(5)f4,=>f4<>4.UP=30
3)(9)f1=(9-8)d3=( 8-2)e3=e7-(2=8)h7-(8=1)h8-h6=g4-(1=3)g1,=>f1<>3.UP=81

Hi Sotir. I followed your step 2) to -(8=1)h8-h6,but here, can't g1 also be 1 (as well as at f4)? Actually,if the chain is taken further:h1=2,i2=8,g45=58 and g1 must =1.
Regards, Alfred.

Sorry,end of first sentence should read g4,not f4.

1. Given 23. Immediate UPs to 27. With pair b23=46, h3=6; UP=28. And lotsa forced choices:
2. f2=2 or 3. If f2=2, g2=3, g1=1, a3=2, b3=1, d5=2, e7=2, h7=8, h1=2, h8=1, h6=3, e6=8, e3=4, e4=3, d3=8, d4=9, & no candidate is left in b4. So f2=3 and SSTs go to UP81.

Kinda long, I guess, but it’s so nice to get one in with everyone else for a change !

Regards,
Brenda

Hi Alfred,
I don't understand what's wrong in step 2,or 3.
IMO nothing wrong.

Hi again Sotir.Here is my understanding of your step 2); "4 at e3,forbids 2 at e3,enables 2 at e7,enables 8 at h7,forbids 8 at h8,enables 1 at h8,forbids 1 at h6 ". I agree with the logic to this stage,but then I can't see why this enables 1 at g4.Can't g1 also be 1 here?
Regards Alfred.
