3. Locked 4s in Bh5, elim in row
4. Triple a5b5c5=158, elim in box
5. Locked 9s in row 9, elim in Bb8
6. Quad: g7,g8,g9,i7=1356, elim in box (h7=9)

is she really wearing ear rings?

Good Maen to all, and to the 'Brown-Eyed Girl' that Willie Nelson sang about!
 |  |
Pretty in pink!

Good Maen all ~ what a little cutie pie!

To CURTIS and AMAZED ~
I also play Sudoku puzzle books and I think that helps with my solving times. You know - 'practice makes....'
Most of the 'set-up's' and 'solve' helps that I've seen listed here take a lot more time to do than the More...
 |  |
I found that there was very little solving to be done during the set-up, and so I got exasperated and began guessing. Very unsatisfying!

What a cutey!

not much trouble today to see this chubby cheeks..lovely with that cute ear ring..in india we pierce the ear for the child on the first birthday and the child wears a small ring type ear ring for some times..some kids till they start going to play school.wonder which other country have that custom??
 |  |
A slow solving day for me, except on the first one--must have expended all my brain power early on. Very sweet little one! Have a good day, all!
 |  |
Precious cutie! Puzzle seemed easy at first; then I got stuck and had to guess once. Not too bad, though.

To Susan - I understand how to play and I feel I am pretty good. I work diabolical puzzles at http://www.sudoku.org.uk/index.htm. It generally takes me about 45 minutes to do one with pencil & paper. They show the statistics of everyone that submits (usually 1800+ entires) and the avegrage is always around 40 minutes. That is why I am skeptical.
 |  |
I just did the puzzle by putting numbers in and letting it flash until I had it in the right place and the best I could do was 4:23.
 |  |
Both of my girls had their ears pierced at 4 months but I know in Mexico they pierce ears at birth in the hospital.

Can she touch her nose with her tongue?
 |  |
brain numb... but saw the baby

What a cutie!

Chubby cheeks!!

ke paperas :P

5.32 for this puzzle using only 'logic and reasoning' (sorry Susan) is not possible. Anything under 20 min for a tough is suss, even for an 'easy tough' as today's. You'll notice that very few people post times here for the tough. So, don't get depressed Curtis, you're doing fine, cheers
 |  |
susan - try 'allowing' incorrect moves and see how how you go? Like curtis I also regularly do many diabolical puzzels and your simple instructions just don't work. Eg 'look at the columns'! I mean really...!!Put your proof on this page as to how your logic and reasoning works to achieve the times you list and then I will believe you!
 |  |
hey who cares what times susan posts - she obviously doesn't allow incorrect moves and simply tries likely numbers - just ignore it if it riles you - most users of this site have a reasonable idea of how long it takes to prove only one solution is possible. I guess some people get a kick out of More...

cute little girl. Pierced ears are something my little girl will have to wait for. I was 14 when I had mine done.
 |  |
If you didn't tick 'allow incorrect moves' you should say 'logic and reasoning and guessing'
Also a bit of luck :)

10:49 after setup. Easier than average, lately. I LOVE babies!

My mum made me wait till 14 till I got mine done. She kept putting it off all through primary by telling me you could only have it done if you were Italian or Greek. YEARS later when I got together with my schoolpals (all Aussie but one other of Anglo, two Italian, one of Greek families) and our More...

1) Start 23, UP to 28.
2) Locked 4s at gh5 forbid a5=4.
3) Naked triplet a5=15, b5=158, c5=158 forbids a4=1, a6=15, c6=15, g5=1, h5=1, i5=1.
4) a4=4 == a4=2 -- c6=2 == c6=9 -- c1=9 == d1=9 -- d78=9 == d78=56 -- d6=5 == d6=4 forbids e4=4. UP 81.
 |  |
It looks like you dropped a couple of steps at the beginning of your proof (there's some cleanup needed to get i46 to be a naked pair), but otherwise it looks good. Rewriting your fc in chain notation reveals the chain e4=4 == ef4=16 -- f6=1 == f6=7 -- f3=7 == e3=7 forbidding e3=4 that's shorter than anything I was able to find.
 |  |
Not only is nic's chain short, it can be used right away, so it gives us the following proof:

1) Start 23, UP to 28.
2) e4=4 == ef4=16 -- f6=1 == f6=7 -- f3=7 == e3=7 forbids e3=4. UP 81.

12.52 - How cute is she!!!

7.50 I don't understand the set up way of sudoku and to me it looks like it would take the fun out of it. I untick allow incorrect moves but then make a note of how many incorrect moves I would(or did ) make. With this I made 2 incorrect moves (both with 3s ). I know this reduces the time you do it More...
 |  |
Yeehaaaaaaaa - managed to do them all today. Struggled with the TOUGH one though but made it in the end.

Cute young lady

Yours Aye

It's no challenge when you don't allow incorrect moves. You may as well click 'Show Solution' and save yourself the time.
 |  |
to clark and nic, ty for the proofs, 1st time I can really use one w/o making my head spin, but after solving the puzzle, I'm still asking about the first step in #2 - how can you eliminate the 4 in e4? Sometimes I don't see the most obvious thing, and I hope that's not what's happening here, but i just don't see it. Thnks again, :)
