1. a5=2,a6=9.Unique possibilities 24.Note pair 12 at b12.
2. If h8=7,pair 59 at g79 and column i has no place for 59.So g7=7,UPs to 43.
3. If b6=7,c3=7=e2,row 5 is devoid of 7.Hence c5=7.UPs to 81.

During mountain hikes to 12,000', I've discovered that the higher the mountain and the bleaker the enviroment, the more lovely and delicate will be the wildflowers. An interesting irony of Nature.

I have never been to Arizona, Wilodene. Thanks for bringing it to me!

Judy - that is interesting. We watched a program on TV last night about the Continental Divide Trail. It was very interesting and mentioned crossing several mountains in Colorado that were 12,000+ high and how the hikers had to cross snow in the middle of July and August!

That's true, too, here in the Sierra Nevadas, Debby. I can see the Mammoth Crest as I look out my window, and, across the top (12,000' +) and nestled in lateral folds of the mountains, there are large patches of snow. Even hiking down the back of sunny Mammoth Mountain, on the trail that leads to More...

Step 2 is not necessary:
After UP=24,c89=59,=>a7=6.ch9=59,hi9=24,i28=59
=>h8=1,h4g7=7....UP=43.

Even in Australia with our puny highest mountain being only 7310' high, we had to cross drifts of snow when we climbed it in December, which of course is in our summer. Ugghh, horrible wet white stuff!!
BTW great shot Wilodene, and wonderful allegory DanM!!
