Anne... I can't see the tree trunk and leaves too clearly, but it appears that what you call a paper bark tree, we call a Birch. There are many different varieties of Birch, and this could be one.

( We needed somebody to submit a comment that wasn't in numbers. )

Another path:
1)Start at 23,=>UP=25

2)fc:(1=7)h8-(7)f8=(7-3)e9=(3)e1-(3)g1=(3)h2
=>h2<>1, UP=26

3)fc:(3)h6=(3-2)h2=(2)i1-(2=8)i5-(8=3)a5
=>g5<>3. UP=30

4)fc:(2)h1=(2)i1-(2=8)i5-(8)g5=(17)cg5-(7)f5=(7)f8-(7=3)e9-(3)e1=(3)g1
=>h2<>3. UP=81

Heidi, The really funny thing is that everyone assumes all those numbers are puzzle solutions but in reality they are secret code. One of todays secret code posts translates into:

"Love, exciting and new. Come Aboard. We're expecting you. The love boat.........."

Heidi, here is a comment that is not in numbers. The tree that is referred to as a Paper Bark is a member of the melaleuca family - distinctively, but not exclusively Australian. See
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melaleuca
The Birch is a different tree entirely, but I agree that there are some similarities.
I hope you don't mind me commenting.

I just love a running joke. Kevin Bacon has been forever immortalized at one of the other forums that I haunt because he is the first gag answer to just about every trivia question there. And just so no one thnks that I am completely ignorant of the classics I'll close this with:
Who's on first?
I don't know.
Third base!

Ian... I firmly believe that every day I learn something new is a good day. Thanks for helping me have a good day. And the more I know, the more I realize how much more I don't know.

Jeff... I have long suspected that they are speaking a secret code. I think More...

dave,
In the middle of your step 4b you have (8)i1 = (8)i5 but at this point in your proof I still have 8 as a possibility in i4. Have I missed something?

An alternate path:
1) basic techniques to UP 25. Note: use locked 6's at gi8, 5's at df5, 6's at ac3, 5's at h79, 4's at e46, and 8's at b13.
2) (1=7)h8-(7)f8=(7-3)e9=(3)e1-(3)g1=(3)h2 => h2<>1 UP 26.
3) (3=2)e1-(3)d2=(3-2)h2=(2)i1 => f1<>2
4) More...

Please include 'this is a dead parrot' from Monty Python to give the jokes an international flair! Or didn't you get John Cleese over there?

DON'T WE GET JOHN CLEESE OVER HERE??????????
I probably have every Monty Python routine memorized, as well as Fawlty Towers. I've seen a passel of skits and movies he's done, as well as his straight man routine with my beloved Goons. I have "How To Irritate People". and More...

John Cleese was amazing in A Fish Called Wanda. (Could it be that he's really an actor?)

Of course he's not the messiah, that would be Graham Chapman!

Heidi, I can see how you got the wrong message because I had a typo, the locked 6's are actually at ac2. And the message is the answer to what are we going to do today? To which the answer is "The same thing we do everyday, Pinky, try to take over the world!"

Thanks Jeff,

No you didn't miss it. My apologies.
4b) delete,

New 4c): (3)d2 = (3-2)h2 = (2)i1 - (2=8)i5 - (8=3)a5 - (3)b6 = (3)b8, => d8<>3.

Lost in my notes. Thanks for taking time to read and point out errors.
