I heard about a variety of butterfly which flies from S.America to N.America over 2000 miles! What is that variety?

might be a Monarch butterfly,that does this
journey Ram

joe b: I think you are correct. We have Monarchs here in northern California that fly 2500 miles from Canada every year. They winter near Santa Cruz and it's a favorite trip for the kindergarden class at our local elementary to see them clustered in the trees. However, most Monarchs on the east coast fly on to Mexico for the winter.

Here's a proof that can probably be improved:

1) Start 23, Unique Possibilities to (UP) 28.
2) Naked pair 46 at d45 forbid d6=46, f456=46, d2=4, d89=46.
3) {ah3=12} == a3=8 -- a8=8 == g8=8 -- i9=8 == i5=8 -- f5=8 == f5=2 -- a5=2 == b46=2 forbids b3=2.
4) Locked 2s at a23 forbid a5=2.
5) Locked 4s at a12 forbid a5=4.
6) a8=8 == g8=8 -- i9=8 == i5=8 forbids a5=8. UP 81.

They look a little pale for Eastern US Monarchs.

1) Start at 23 filled - the given puzzle. Unique Possibilities to 28 filled. (UP 28).
2) c3=2 == {hidden pair 24 at b46} -- b4=5 == c4=5 -- c2=5 == a2=5 forbids a2=2,a4=4,ac1=5 UP 35
3a) Pair 46 at d45 forbids d2689,f456=4 and forbids d689,f456=6
3b) a3=2 == a5=2 -- f5=2 == f5=8 -- i5=8 == i9=8 -- g8=8 == a8=8 forbids a35=8 UP 81

Hi Clark!
Very nice proof! Solving a5 seems to be the common key between our proofs today. Additionally, we used most of the same strong sets. Good to see you are still posting proofs!
