Samantha Stosur just beat Sugiyama 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in the first round of the U.S. Open. Lots of good tennis coming up in the weeks ahead & I can watch live matches during Eastern Standard time - no time changes to work around as with the other three majors. Hooray.

Thoughts and prayers for the firefighters who have lost their lives in the L.A. fires...and with hopes that they are able to get control with no more loss of life.
May those who are in line to lose their homes, appreciate the lives that are saved....It really looks bad from the news reports I've seen. Things can be replaced. Peace!

nice sunny but cool day here - head wind made it a little more difficult to ride the bike - enjoying my backyard - got 2 woodpeckers new this week.

Mary, my bike ride just now was a breeze of a different sort! You see, our cabin is at the top of the hill ... so I glided down as far as I wanted ... and then caught the free trolley with bike trailer back up the hill!

Rayray has me stumped with his riddle. Are those actually minus signs?
