Hello to our sandgroper friends in WA. I've noticed that many of the place names in WA end in 'up', so I assume that 'up' has an aboriginal meaning. Can anyone tell me what it is?
 |  |
Judy from Bendigo - beehive is our knowledgeable sandgroper. What he doesn't know he always seems to find out (or make up). So, until we get him back, we will have to remain in ignorance!!!
Sorry I couldn't help you.

3:58 Cold Cold! 33 degrees. Winter is here. YUK
 |  |
Dave from Northern Illinois - 33 degrees here is pretty damn hot. Would you be referring to fahrenheit or celsius? Please be more explicit so that we all know.

 |  |
fahrenheit

to ..From..
I know that, I just wanted to make sure that everyone else knew it, and preferably from the gg's mouth!!!

Sorry about that. Just had a power surge and everything needed to be reset. Anyway where was I. Thats right, place names. Mostly places that end in 'up' have something to do with water, but I think Jerramungup has to do with big trees. I hope that goes a little way in answering you Corky. Their More...

We experienced our hottest October day since 1914 today. It was a nasty day, with a hot north wind blowing and more than 200 fires burning throughout the state. This is the sort of weather we can normally expect in January or February, but not October. It looks like a long hot summer ahead.

BC from NH - it all depends on the settings you use. I have mine at about 220degree setting which is, I think, about 425-450
 |  |
Sounds about right to me on conversion. I'll try my hand at these tomorrow. Very nice of you to share.

I'm waiting for the invitation to come and join you for morning coffee and scones.

I'm afraid I'm too tired to stay up for the new puzzles tonight. Goodness me, twice in one week. That's just not heard of. I must be getting old as I never miss change over each night.
Good Night everyone. I need the early night to get to BC's place in time for morning smoko.

i see there's no-one around to talk to... so i may as well go to bed. Good night everyone in the south!

I'm a pretty good cook, but that would be one heck of a plane ride, Anne! :>)
