Lidl??? Fioni, is that French or Scottish? Or is my blonde showing again?

I believe it's German Broni - a shop which sells things a bit cheaper than your normal supermarket supposedly!
19/Jun/09 6:32 PM
 |  |

Don't have one around here so have never been but there are loads of them in Europe.
19/Jun/09 6:33 PM
 |  |

Sounds like Aldi or those $2 shops, have you heard of them?
19/Jun/09 6:36 PM
 |  |

Aldi, yes, probably the same. Haven't seen any 1 euro shops though. Come to that, why don't I have a euro symbol on my PC? That is not right - should be standard!
19/Jun/09 6:38 PM
 |  |

Loads of unintelligible wiggly signs but no euro symbol - that is sad.

Hehe Fiona, sure there is an alt thingy you can use.

Have a glass of wine or is it too early in the day?? Wash my mouth out! Is it ever too early?

€ think I can copy and paste

only 10.40 am here and I'm baking fairy cakes for a little girl's birthday party this weekend - a glass of wine just might cause the said cakes to be forgotten in the oven and burnt and then I'd have to start all over again! I will stick with coffee for the now.
19/Jun/09 6:42 PM

oh where did you find that?

24 cakes done, 24 to go...'tis a long process indeed.
19/Jun/09 6:45 PM
 |  |

What about coffee with a dash?? 6:45pm here as if you did not know and a cool glass is beside me, don't think fairy cakes would go with it.
19/Jun/09 6:46 PM

oh a fairy cake soaked in some rum wouldn't be so bad! Not quite a baba but not far!
19/Jun/09 6:49 PM

Not so good with Irish Whiskey me tinks!
Very strange, I have a gecko talking to me and they don't often come out in winter, perhaps he wants my whiskey?
19/Jun/09 6:53 PM

major calculation error here; I only have 47 fairy cakes...that's what happens when you lick the bowl.
19/Jun/09 6:54 PM
 |  |

Well we have scared off Mo and sure Ian won't come out to play.
19/Jun/09 6:55 PM
 |  |

How many attending Fiona? You could have left the bowl for me!
19/Jun/09 6:57 PM
 |  |

don't actually know Broni - the girl sends out the invitations and i have only a vague idea how many are coming, how many are staying overnight...does it really matter - there are 47 fairy cakes!!
19/Jun/09 7:02 PM
 |  |

Well it sure beats looking for accounting/stock software....make sure the other 23 don't burn hehe!
19/Jun/09 7:06 PM
 |  |

Ian it doesn't work!
19/Jun/09 7:07 PM
 |  |

If you made another batch you'd have 23 left over and could turn them into butterflies!
Still not got to Lidl hving a Cappuccino with hubby. He tells me I need to buy strimmer string or fil for a débroussieuse (sp)
19/Jun/09 7:07 PM
 |  |

He'll clear the back up to the vines if I get it
19/Jun/09 7:08 PM
 |  |

débroussailleuse! I think! You won't find that at Lidl. And if you think I'm faffing around making butterflies, forget it. The girl also wants Spanish Paëlla for dinner so have to get making that soon.

I have to find a buyer for a pair of his and hers Omega de Ville watches. An old(93)friend was widowed in January and she is now in the local hospitals Maison de Retraite. She has no further use for them and the money would be useful for little luxuries. Anyone know a watch dealer?

Mo you don't want to be letting your man loose with a strimmer - they're just another of those toys for boys - when a bloke gets a strimmer in his hands he feels powerful and then destroys half the garden in the process. Your roses will disappear in a flick of the switch.
19/Jun/09 7:12 PM
 |  |

I now have an image of fffffafffing Ffffiona, sorry,
good luck with the paëlla, it is too fffffiddly fffor me
19/Jun/09 7:13 PM
 |  |

I thought of that. All my roses are in dedicated beds which are out of bounds for the male of the species except for the occasional sniff for the perfume
19/Jun/09 7:14 PM
 |  |

OK I give up, even goggled it and still none the wiser what is "débroussailleuse"
BTW my Mum used to make butterflies or fairy cakes, always better if you let the cream soak in.

It is also called a Brush Cutter, Broni

strimmer in English, or at least in British English - makes a terrible noise, has a plastic bit that whizzes round and would take your finger off, but most men content themselves with cutting anything above grass level - and I mean anything at all! Major row ensues as to disappearance of all More...

Brrhhppffffump!
Lidl is a good place - except a puter mouse I bought there once. I had to return the poor Lidl mouse.
