3.50 I just want to say how blessed I feel. I have 3 healthy sons who are doing well, a lovely home, a good, fulfilling job as a nurse, & the most wonderful husband in the world. Life has been good to me & I'm truely thankful to God for everything He's given me.

An old man lived alone in the country. He wanted to dig his potato garden but it was very hard work as the ground was hard. His only son Fred, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament.

Dear Fred,
I am feeling pretty bad More...

Suz, not to put down God, but you ought to thank yourself more. I'll bet it's a whole lot more your fault than it is his/hers.

They have called him Sebastien Pierre. Jay's family are very french, so they gave him a nice french name. My family and hubbys family are french too, but i could kick myself for not using it anymore and for not teaching our kids french. Hind sight is always so clear

ap, your stereo comments are so true! hubby blew the budget bigtime last year on stereo stuff, and while I objected, I was overruled. Now he is talking about changing components as they don't fit with the lounge!

as a grown child, I probably call my parents at least once a fortnight, often would like to call more often (2x week?). I think they often wish I'd call less often! We try to call my MIL once a week (would possibly prefer less frequently!), but my FIL we only contact when there is a real reason to More...

Keith from CA, just giving credit where credit is due. True, I've worked hard to get where I am, however there are so many things beyond our control & anything can happen at any time to completely turn our lives upside down. I also know of people who've worked as hard as I but due to circumstances More...

Mary what wonderful news, congratulations to you, your daughter and the extended family.
A BABY BOY…
A baby boy was created
by the hand of God above
to give the world the sweetest touch
of tenderness and love.
With the softness of a whisper,
God made a baby's skin
and then More...

Mickey,
here I thought my guess was way out! guess I've still got a decent chance!

Jane,
hang in there. I know it's hard. My old next-door neighbour also has a family that doesn't talk to her anymore and it breaks her heart. I think that is why we love her so much, and why she loves More...

Hey girl,
He will arrive when you least expect him to... relax and enjoy the last few hours or days you have of having him all to yourself.

Warren..As a mother of 2 sets of twins...four teenage girls, I sometimes long for the days when they will move out, however, I do not want to have a day go by without me or them saying 'I love you and goodnight'. And to answer your question, I speak to my mother and father everyday and though we More...

WARREN - I visit my mother every fortnight for the day - take her shopping etc. I may call on the in-between week if I have plenty of spare time. She reeeeeeeeealy likes to chat. I speak to my MIL at least once a week and hubby calls her every day or 2 and visits weekly - she is only a 15 More...

Thinking about communicating....Does anyone else rarely use the phone now? I use the mobile sometimes but not often and the home phone hardly at all.

At work we communicate mostly by email.
My youngest daughter and i (who live together) communicate by textmessage (it's cheaper!) . Otherwise i tend to use the net.

Maybe the home phone is becoming redundant?

Angie your comment above is really sweet and touching.
Good on you!

hey warren - I've read thru the posts in some amazement at how often people talk to their parents - we lived overseas for many many years after we got married and my dad amazed me by writing something every week (a lot of it was waffle just to keep in touch but I did still love him for it). but my More...

fraz i think you have a point there, tho i don't have a mobile. email is so good if the need is not immediate - less intrusive coz people can read and answer when it suits. fine so long as they do, of course!

jane we let our answering machine take calls first and when a real person starts to talk we pick it up! the telemarketers dont usually stay on line if theres an answering machine
