I was thinking of moving to Australia but when I saw a clip of 800 crazy people in Oz running into the ice-cold water to celebrate the shortest day of the year there, I started to re-think my plans.

Morning HalT and Wolf you will NEVER find me amongst those 800. I love swimming but I detest even chilly water let alone ICE cold and in the middle of winter....did I mention I also dislike, immensely, Winter! I do however like the shortest day of the year...from here on in they improve. Although my brain always thinks that as they get longer they should also be getting warmer.

I have an appointment with my orthopedist today. He will see if there has been improvement to the torn tendon in my finger. After 5 weeks with this splint, I certainly hope so! I'd cross my fingers.....but, I can't. More...

I am really mad at myself, I got sucked into a bank scam/fraud last night and money was transferred out of my account straight away. I answered a supposed bank email. Have done all the things you are meant to do after an event like this, but I'm still mad.

Good mAen, good people. I'll add a few to help Keith out. Troy lands in Detroit in a little over an hour. He's in the air between Minneapolis and Duluth right now.
22/Jun/16 2:58 AM
 |  |

Once in Detroit he has to collect his luggage and go through customs then get his luggage rechecked through to South Bend where I pick him up. He only has 1-1/2 hours between landing and leaving the gate to do this. Will he make his connecting flight? Will his luggage be on the flight with him? Only time will tell.

Ignore that I said Troy. I meant Burl.

Egads, I'm worn out. And I go away with Skye for camp this weekend while Burl and Faun hang out.

Little girl has had a fever since Saturday. She is either reacting to her MMRV vaccination or she is just sick. Either way she is a miserable little girl. If she still has a fever tomorrow we will go see her Dr.

That's why you live in Queensland and I live in Canberra Meg! I love winter; getting out on a clear frosty morning is fantastic, but I have to admit coming back to a warm house is pretty good too!

1:22 for the Sudoku.

Morning all, I think that school had an Aussie teacher visiting.
CP, happened to me a few years ago , didn't know they had taken anything till the bank rang me. We got it all back thank goodness.

Sorry to hear the scammers got you CP but as Amelia says, you generally get it back. I hope Kathy gets good news from her doctor.

My son is visiting from Brisbane today. Although he had lived in Canberra for many years he is going to feel the chill on this cold, wet and windy day.

A good LPOTD contest yesterday, but as predicted it went to a North American, although I wouldn't have predicted it to be Greg.

Looking to see who solves the poodles, there are usually more females than males, but today there are more males, maybe because it is a math(s) problem.

Well, I can claim a CP with a reasonable chance of success.
