My silly cat would jump from the ground to the roof in one jump. There is a four foot overhang on the roof, so it had to be straight up. She also used to show my cross-eyed cat how to get of the roof. (Garbage can to fence post to roof. Then jump down to the gate and then the ground. Poor Fluff couldn't decide witch gate to jump to.

I had a very macho black cat who would jump from the brick fence to the patio roof about 5 feet up and 5 feet away. If you happen to be standing out there you would see a cat sailing through the air over your head!

The same cat was once left speechless when a new kitten tried to nurse on him. Ever heard a grown male cat squeak? It's hilarious!

That's what I love about cats... they try to look SOOOO dignified, and frequently do NOT succeed.

My husband use to torment his little sister by putting her cat on a inflated plastic lounge mat in the swimming pool. The cat hated water and being in the middle of the pool, so would jump out to the side and always missed ending up in the water. Never figured out that the concept of offsetting force - that the mat moved away as it pushed off on its jump.
