Invasive Species are one of our greatest challenges. Few places on Earth are now not subject to the onslaught of noxious weeds.

Brazilian Pepper, Malelueca, Potato Vine, and Australian Pine have defiled thousands of acres of what was once "Old Florida."

Find out the worst offenders in your area - and remove them from your property!!!!

The old Patterson's curse was called Salvation Jane in drought, because it continued to grow and provided some stock feed. I don't think they will eat it unless there is nothing else.

Hi all! Thanks Fii for spelling the plant's name correctly! It is Paterson's curse with one T like our famous poet Andrew Barton (Banjo) Paterson - though I do not believe the two are connected! I know, I am pedantic in the extreme - but I like to be accurate.

Back from our wonderful "get-away" Christmas at an English style country Inn just across the Golden Gate from San Francisco and down a very windy road to the ocean at Muir Beach. The Muir Woods Redwood grove was just up the road. Good food, good live entertainment ... Lynne and I had a lot of fun.

Forget the fancy presents, the rain was the best present possible! (Not sure that parents of bored children will agree after a week of it though!) I can only say THANKYOU!!!

Grasshopper - surprisingly, we haven't got much rain here (about 50mm). Usually it's us in the coastal areas that get the rain while you miss out. Pleased you're getting plenty up there.

we got powder snow today - nice to shovel for exercise - but I have to keep telling my son - throw it over the mound of snow already placed - as if we get more snow, we will not have a place to put it.

1:55, a bit of Patterson's Curse. Not good if you have horses, it kills them if they eat it.
