Who the heck irons bed sheets??? The only time they're exposed is at night and everyone's eyes are closed!!! I don't even look at the bed spread! Of course it helps if they're made of materials that don't need ironing! My blouses and pants are lucky if I even expose the iron to air outside the closet where it's kept!

ugh, if you have A/C I want my mountain beeze back. It's 93* and very, very 'still'. I'm obviously supposed to stop ironing, my misting bottle just broke....

Shannon - my friend said at the Pepperidge Farm outlet store in Michigan City, IN, just east of Chicagolalnd. I did read that they first introduced them in the US through Target stores, as Fiona mentioned, but we here in the US don't usually think of buying food at Target. They have a snacks section, but it's not a grocery proper.

Had a great time at lunch. I've posted a picture in my gallery, and now I'm off to the health club to work off my lunch. This should be very interesting. I have never gone to aerobics class with 2 glasses of wine in the tank.

Actually, Plum, our Target is almost a full grocery store, but we don't have a meat or produce department like the Super Targets.

Hmmm, Target groceries must be a regional thing, then?

Well, I got to wondering about laundering and ironing sheets. My few minutes of research reveals:

sheets should be ironed before completely dry and should be dried on low-medium heat even if they're cotton

if wrinkled sheets have been dried completely, put them back in the dryer More...

My mom inherited my grandma's ironrite. I've never seen her use it, but she swears by it. Now I'm curious about it. Maybe I'll someday inherit it?

Two naps in one day, is simply wonderful. If you are wondering if I left my darling at school, her dad got off work early and I taught him how to do pick her up yesterday and today he went solo. All while I snoozed. Actually thinking of snuggling with my pillow when they go out for their daily ride. I have such a hard life.

Good Morning all from wet Canberra.
I can't believe that people iron sheets! I've never contemplated such a waste of time. Hubby says that the sheets in some of the railway quarters were starched. Can you imagine trying to climb into starched cotton sheets in the middle of winter?

Hello everyone, QLD blue have a better flavour than most pumpkins.
Whats this!!! Iron sheets, no way, if you hang them on the line make sure the edges are level then fold them straight off the line, not a crease in sight, even the fitted ones if folded right. Then if you use a dryer make sure it has cool down and again fold or put on the bed straight from the dryer.

Today we'll go and see if there is any snow laying around south of the city.

Old Hickory, my mother had one of those machines, can't remember what mom called it. I remember her ironing everything, yes she ironed everything. Thank goodness I was so young at the time or I might have had to do this horrid job. I don't buy anything that needs ironing and if I happen to make a mistake and get something that does not come out of the dryer wrinkle free it is given away.

Morning. Minnie - can you please send me some seeds from your Queensland Blue? They are the best tasting of all the Aussie pumpkins, and keep very well in the fridge for a long time.

It used to be that Qld Blue were pretty much the only pumpkin, apart from maybe Butternut, that you could buy. Haven't seen Qld Blue in shops for several years.

Pumpkins in Oz are nothing like pumpkins in either the US or UK, They are very tasty, usually a nutty and sweet flavour when roasted, and grat when mashed with butter and milk.

When I used to read about folks carving jack-o'-lanterns, it didn't make sense, because our pumpkins are usually hard skinned and the flesh is very dense and hard when uncooked. But having had a Halloween in Hawaii, I realised how different the pumkins were, and how easy to hollow out and then carve.

Ok. enough said, I am off to start another fairly busy day - with more social engagements than any thing else.

CP, I use to wonder about the carving myself and think what a lot of hard work. Now you have explained I can understand why they do it.

Gosh, CP, I thought our pumpkins were hard-skinned. You have to use a large, very sharp knife to carve them. The seeds are a pain to remove because they're all attached. The flesh is extremely hard when uncooked, but since we don't remove it when carving the pumpkin, it's not a problem. In any case, I can only imagine how hard Australian pumpkins must be if they're harder than the U.S. variety!!

Looks like we have established that ironing sheets is a waste of time. Since, for the next 9 months, this will be on my mind, has anyone ever ironed their undies. This time I am not lying, my sister is back home. All test say she is normal and healthy. They did not take a mental test. Just could have been a big pile up of life, topped off with extreme heat. Momma is babying her at the moment, so she is fine.
