Jeb, the rest of the story please! What happened yesterday? I spent the day with my son and his family. My grandson recognizes me and always gives me a giggle or two. In a marsh preserve near me we always have a pair of snowy egrets and a common egret or two to nest here. I always look for them now. Only the snowy egret came .

Angie, I think Emily is a winner simply for competing. Many become so unnerved that they don't take part all. A great seamstress must have spent a lot of time on that costume to enable it to withtand the rigors of the dance...lol Great job by both of you. Get plenty of rest for next week.

A priest and a taxi driver both died and went to heaven. St. Peter was at the Pearly gates waiting for them.

'Come with me', said St. Peter to the taxi driver.

The taxi driver did as he was told and followed St. Peter to a mansion. It had anything you could imagine from a bowling More...

Thanks for finishing Jeb's joke, Caddy. It was a laugh out loud one for me! Must rest my weary fingers....they are worn out typing and retyping the many missing letters and spaces. Have a wonderful time no matter what you must do...if nothing else, you get whatever it may be, over with...Peace Be With You!

Yes, that problem is usually the result of something under the keycaps preventing a connection from being made. It might be crumbs, even dust, but the worst is spilling something so that a residue forms under the keycaps. The caps can be [very gently] pried off and swabbed with a bit of rubbing alcohol.

Buy another keyboard. They are one of the cheapest parts of your whole system. Saves a lot of stuffing around, unless of course you are that way inclined and from the sounds of your post you aren't. It would probably cost more in labor from a tech to clean it than buying a new one.

Good Samritan and Agreed....I hear you loud and clear!!!! I wasn't able to pry the caps off, but with a very thin brush I cleaned, shook and knocked out a lot of debris.....was amazed at the dirt since I don't often eat while at the computer, and have made it a practce to dust the More...

Hello Mamacita! I think you are having your leg pulled by the Good Samaritin. DO NOT PRY THE KEYS OFF! If you really want to clean your keyboard, remove the bottom by taking all the screws out and then clean it with compressed air (available at a low cost from any computer store). If it's is really More...

No leg pulling here. Keyboards are cheap, but you are correct, removing the screws from the bottom of a standard keyboard and blowing compressed air will remove any dust. BUT, if anything has been spilt on the keyboard, that won't solve the problem. I think agreed was talking about a laptop as the electronics on a standard computer keyboard are different from a laptop.

By the way, while you are buying a can of compressed air or a new keyboard, invest in a plastic keyboard cover. There are different varieties so have a look around.

Probably the biggest source of ''dirt'' under the keycaps, or in the keyboard, is minuscule skin flaking, not even visible when it happens. A keyboard cover is useful, but most dirt accumulates while working on the computer...people who never let coffee or munchies anywhere near their computers are More...

Hey everyone, to those that posted on my page, yes, we think Emily is pretty, but that is just a photo from my camera,(still need to learn how to use it) but will post the formal one when it comes back.

Emily and Joe are good friends and had a great time. Can't believe my baby is going to leave this fall, but that is just part of them growing up.

Guys, one and all, Samaritan, Agreed and C.Greg....I am using a basic Dell Desk top...I will remove the screws and use compressed air to clean and only a limited amount of alcohol on Q-tips to clean, being sure all is dry, prior to reassembling, use of a cover may/may not be all that helpful, and More...

Oops I forgot. Mamacita I remember some schools having flexible keyboard covers on student used computers all the time, even while kids used them.
