Kathy, I'm sorry about your loss of sp status, but I'm sure you and Gath can work it out. I wish he'd take money orders, since I'm not interested in Play Pal. I love the new smilies.

mAen everyone. I hope you are having a good weekend.

MAMACITA: You can be my 'Play Pal' anytime!! LOL

Mamacita, if we Aussies can pay by cheque (check, for you) is it not an option for you? You know, work out the conversion, add a bit for bank fees..... What do you say, Gath?

Makes you Think

Good Saturday mAen, all!

Mel/Perth and fi/NT--thank you for the explanation of the Aussie team names and website.

Just one more basic question--is this what Americans call 'soccer'?
 |  |
Babies fed and changed. Time to go home -nearly. Maen and night-night.
 |  |
Mel/Perth; fi/NT. This is fun to learn about your teams. Is 'footy' football like in USA? Or soccer? or rugby? Is there a team near Oz? I saw a documentary about Oz once and it looked beautiful...I would cheer for it if I knew! Thanks.

Mamacita, agree with you about Pay Pal - I don't have a credit card myself; my husband does, but he does very well going up to the limit without adding me to it as well.... I'd love to be a supporting member since I spend so much time on this site. Does anyone know: is there any other way?
 |  |
OK, I realise I sound like a 'submissive wife'; all I need to do is ask, it's not a lot of money. But I don't want to get into that habit of using the credit card... I'm sure it could get addictive.

what time is it over there??? in usa

Taz, Right now it's 4:30 Saturday aft.
mAen stands for morning, afternoon, evening, night, capitalize where you are.
 |  |
taz, MAEN means Morning, Afternoon, Evening, Night, Depending on your time zone. Sometimes people capitalize the time where they are. The reason no one responded, probably, is because they're so used to it, they think everyone knows what it means.

taz/queensland--thank you for the continued explanation of aussie rules, footy, etc!

Our neighbors moved to Australia (where the family's dad is from) and the 16 year old son is playing rugby...

Good maEn!!! My goodness it is HOT, just like most everyplace else. It was 92 when I was coming home this afternoon, and very humid. It's like when we lived in Florida.

My daughter and son-in-law came this afternoon to take me out to eat and bring me a birthday present, as they will be More...

Further to the explanation that Taz gave, when taz said 'the most common' - it really depends on where you live in Australia. Taz lives in Queensland, so the most common football there IS Rugby - in Victoria - there is only ONE meaning for football (lol) and that is AFL - (Aussies Rules) the More...

Here in Ireland, and probably sometimes in Australia, we play an odd hybrid of Aussie rules and GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) 'football' (a very popular Irish 'football' game, use of hands ok), which is called International Rules, played by Aussies and Irish GAA, with compromise rules. It's an More...

Here in Australia we will play almost any type of sport but 'football' here is Australian Rules Football or AFL.
NSW and Queensland are dominated by Rugby League and Rugby Union is also played.
AFL has spread into all states of Australia other More...

Good morning world, Elias is 10 months old today and his picture is on the parent's page sudoku. Perfect timing I would have to say.
 |  |
Eden, Love the picture of Elias. He sure is growing fast, and almost ready to do sudoku, one way or another.
 |  |
Taz, I think that you wil find that Aussie rules is a lot more popular in Australia than Rugby League, in both attendance at the highest level and in numbers playing.
 |  |
Carol - Australian rules football is a LITTLE like our football, but not much. The ball is bigger, they wear more pads, it looks a lot more unorganized, . . . If you are familiar with rugby, it is a little closer to rugby (in my way of looking at it) than our football.
Kathy - I used to like More...

Eden, A hug and a kiss for Elias.

ap and Glenn, Good ones. ap, Barb will like the dogs joke.

Jamie, They have been people writing to The St. Pete Times to have Lio pulled from the paper. Calvin and Hobbes, never a better one. The others I read are Non Sequitur, Garfield, Opus and Mother Goose and Grimm.

Morning all - not sure if this joke has been posted before, apologies if it has...

Yup, Billy, I recently heard someone say, when asked 'are you a dog or a cat person'? 'Dog - a realtionship should be a two-way thing, otherwise it's just stalking'

Where is the MIGHTY WEST COAST SUPPORTER, I really miss her. I know she broke her wrist some time ago. Hope she is okay.

I remember she said she then followed the Dockers, a true blue West Aussie, and followed the Blues also.

Pete - so true!!
...the west....which part of the hemisphere?? Or is it a case of, if you tell me you will then have to kill me??
 |  |
Ed, I gave Elias a hug for you, and a bounce too. He did a wee on me. But I pretended it was on you.
 |  |
Eden, Thank you. I won't ask what Richard did after the handshake. How is Jan? I hope I got that right.
