everyone and John.
The grass is sparkly white and covered with mini rainbows this crisp 22°F morning.
Supposed to be almost 80° F by the end of the week!

Good question, Dorthea! I think John had the best answer, because it's not just YOUR eyesight!

My poor little grandson Bailey and Amanda, my daughter, came to visit me this morning and we were sitting outside because it was lovely weather. He had dropped something over the fence of the adjoining paddock and must have reached through and I heard him scream and found him on the ground. Amanda More...

2:13 Good evening all. What a coincidence, I hadn't seen the photo of the fence when I wrote the comment above.
31/Mar/10 12:49 AM
 |  |

Oh, Anne! How awful! You are lucky it wasn't worse! Hopefully Amanda's nerve damage will go away quickly. I think a disguised diplomatic comment about warning neighbours is in order. What does he keep in his in-town paddock that needs to be electric-fenced?
31/Mar/10 1:02 AM

Anne - even though the following pertains to the US, I can't imagine that you don't have similar restrictions/regulations.

That fence is awful. What if he was playing ball and backed into it. There should be some kind of barrier on your side.
31/Mar/10 1:31 AM
 |  |

everyone!

Isn't it required that electric fences have "warning" signs posted on them? I believe it is around here. Anne, I'd be giving the neighbor more than a disguised diplomatic comment! How totally irresponsible!
31/Mar/10 1:31 AM
 |  |

He should be responsible for that.
31/Mar/10 1:32 AM

This is why I remembered something about 'warning' signs. This is part of the article that Daplap posted. And, yes, there are restrictions.

"Electric fences incorrectly installed without a pulsating regulator have led to fatalities and criminal prosecutions as in the 1988 death of an More...

My question is why does one NEED an electric fence in the city???

Anne: Sorry to hear about your grandson and daughter's surprise encounter with the electric fence.

To those of you "bragging" about your 80° weather, Sue & Shiela, the last time I saw 80°, was when the wood stove "got away from me", a couple weeks ago. Remember, your 80° days, this time of year, portend much warmer days ahead. I definitely don't want to hear any whining from you, when summer gets here (in the northern hemisphere).
31/Mar/10 1:50 AM

Thank you very much Jerry, but I will whine all I want when the temps are 100° plus.

Useless information 2

- Nearly 1/3 of U.S. women color their hair.
- 9% of women and 8% of men have had cosmetic surgery.
- 53% of women will not leave the house without makeup on.
- 58% of women paint their nails regularly.
- 33% of women lie about their weight.

hey that was scary, Anne. Glad the damage is not very serious, but still, the neighbor must be held responsible for the whole commotion and I wonder what sorta compensation you can claim!!!..( at least his power line fuse must be pulled out till he puts up any proper warning )

53% of women will not leave the house without makeup on? I'm definitely not one of them!
I'm curious. How many of you do? (the ladies, I mean, although you guys could fess up, too. lol)

P.S. The packaging suggests that it also works on glass, ceramic or induction cookers.

Anne, pleased your Grandson and daughter are OK. I do not think he is allowed to electrify a boundry fence. I think it has to be within his own boundary. I would definitely make some enquiries about it as someone could be very seriously hurt.
