I posted solutions to yesterday's brain teaser on yesterday's puzzle by mistake. I will repost now...

First puzzle solution:

If you take the clue, DCIUCQCSTCNCACICG, and remove the seven Cs in it and then read from East to West (right to left) you get the answer: Giant Squid!

Second puzzle solution:

What single letter of the alphabet is missing below?

B C D F G H J L More...

B C D F G H J L ? V W X Y Z

The answer is "P"

All the other letters are in QUESTION MARK...

Andre - right now the most appropriate Latin phrase would be:

appy - I am going to with the counterintuitive choice of the block. With negligible friction it should move freely. The sphere, on the other hand, adapting to the minute amount of friction would begin to roll and I think that would slow it down since it would have to counter the inertia thus More...

On the other hand, I would suspect that the terminal velocity of the sphere would be slightly higher since it encounters less resistance to the atmosphere, so if the slope were long enough for the objects to reach terminal velocity then the sphere would eventually catch and pass the block.

Wow - I have really confused the whole thing now.

I look forward to hearing the correct answer!

Answer to her inbox, Glenn!!
Okay, cat's out of the bag.
That's what I said, except a lot more simply!
"The sphere would take longer because it is rotating. The block would slide down first"
As you can see, I do not over think things! LOL

Glenn, Kathy, huh?
I always thought the sphere would win because (you're going to groan!) time goes faster when you're having a ball!

Good afternoon to all! I'm totally surprised I don't see any Quayle jokes with this photo showing!

I think Glenn was paying Appy back by posting his solution on this page after Appy gave the question mark comment the other day!

Perhaps a tranquilizer is needed to BLOCK appy's SPHERE of flying.

CG, I found a whole page of Quayle quotes for you.
example: "I was recently on a tour of Latin America, and the only regret I have was that I didn't study Latin harder in school so I could converse with those people."

... and that makes me better than any Quayle.

Thanks Shosho, but I didn't mean I was searching the Internet for jokes. I was referring to Quayle's shots at Cheney after the "hunting" incident years ago.

SOLUTION
PUZZLE (from yesterday):

Greg - my posts argued in favor of both answers. One for the sphere and one for the block.

I apologize if I was not suppose to post this one to all. I guess I was not thinking about that because I was trying to figure out the problem and all my neurons were busy on it.

My bad...

Kathy: I'll explain later, when I'll also explain the circumstances (in a private message) why later - as I am up to my neck in a problem that has arisen here right now.
The Molten Suphur is probably best if you have a severe cold!
