Glenn. It's minus 39 Celsius here today with the wind chill factor. Your weather sonds great to me.

GREG - You will notice that I did not specify whether the -40 degrees was Celsius or Fahrenheit...

Pretty Flower!

Len - I am feeling very wimpy today. It read 10 below F. at our house this morning! BRRRRRRRRRR

When I was in Florida in December, I couldn't believe the people with coats on when the temperature was in the 60's and 70's F. It is very humid there and it makes it feel cooler when the temperature goes down. (As for me, I was enjoying the cooler temps. It was nice to have it above freezing.)

AP - love your jokes. It was a good way to insert the sobering thought that 'War doesn't determine who's right, just who's left'. The site seems to be more and more international. Great!

Best thing about the Super Bowl, SHAWN? Um ... that it ended? :)

86 and sunny here in the San Diego North County yesterday and headed for the same today ... Life is good.
 |  |
1:54 and glad to see that Ap and Canuk Greg are in fine form today. Thanks for the chuckles.
Joke's on me as well--just when I was looking forward to another weekend on the ski slopes, the roads to the place were closed due to white-outs and the wind chill made it impossible to ski anyway. Oh, well, maybe next weekend ...

GLENN At -40 degrees, it doesn't matter whether is it C or F. It's the one point where the numbers match. As to getting older or getting used to one type of weather then finding it more difficult to adapt to a change, it's mostly the latter. When I first came to Bahrain in August as a teacher, we More...

Cold here too, but only a couple degrees below zero F.

 |  |
Judy's just upset that the Chargers took Ryan Leaf instead of Peyton Manning.
 |  |
nice dialogue there between Greg and Glenn..a number play too....to be prcise 39F=39.44444..C!!
but -40F=-40C!!as lorra has said the numbers match...
stay warm both Greg and Glenn
cheers

I'm new. What does maen mean?
 |  |
2:05, my coat was still in my truck, walked out this morning and it didn't feel that cold after being low 30's last week, the radio said it was 35F. For those not on American TV, you can see the commercials at several websites, http://www.ifilm.com/superbowl. My favorite was the rabbit and the guinea pig working the mouse. Go Colts....

With a couple celebrating their 50th anniversary at the
church's marriage marathon, the minister asked Brother Ralph
to take a few minutes and share some insight into how he
managed to live with the same woman all these years.

The husband replied to the audience, 'Well, I More...

everyone from Tucson Arizona, USA where today it should be sunny and in the low 70s F...around 21-23 C.
I loved the outcome of the Super Bowl. If the chargers could not get there, the Colts deserved to be and to win. I am so happy for Peyton Manning. Too bad San Diego More...

Smarternow, maen stands for morning, afternoon, evening, night. We capitalize the letter that represents the time of day we are currently in. I am in the Central time zone of the United States, so I would write a greeting of good Maen, because it is still morning where I am. See?
 |  |
Bill, that WAS a funny commercial.
 |  |
2:05. Maen to all.
 |  |

Glenn, I'm not sure if it is age either, but I cannot tolerate temps below about 50 degrees. It is just too cold for me. And, I used to snow ski and loved the snow and cold.
SMARTERNOW...Shawn covered the meaning of mean very well but try double clicking on the maen in your last post. Gath, the site creator has given us an explanation of the word...

The morning started out at -5 degrees F with 500 schools in the area closed for the day. We have strong winds and it is cold.

The flower picture was a nice reminder of better weather coming.

Bill from Texas, I think Judy is off crying since she is not responding.
 |  |

BRRRR from Minnesota. -16F when I got to the office this morning. No school today here. at midnight last night it was -36F at my son's house.

Woo Hoo Colts Win!
 |  |

Lorra - I knew that -40F = -40C...

That is why I did not specify!

You learn these things very quickly when you spend a few years in Minnesota.

The coldest I can remember was one night when it was -50F with a wind chill of -100F!

I wish it would warm up a bit here - it is supposed to get up to 61F by this afternoon...

Glenn, you can come and visit me and relive the good ole days!

Everybody is talking about the weather but nobody does anything about it. - Mark Twain

Let's get our thoughts off the weather with an oldie but a goodie.....

A man was sitting at home one evening, when the doorbell rang. When he answered the door, a 6 foot tall cockroach was standing there. The cockroach immediately punched him between the eyes and scampered off. The next More...

Water under the bridge, BILL! But I sure wish the Chargers still had Drew Brees. I think that they would have been playing yesterday if they did.

Sorry, DAVE! I don't sulk! Just off playing the other puzzles! I LOVE all levels of football, but I just didn't think the fiasco in the rain was a very good game.
 |  |
Dave I didn't maen, mean, to hurt Judy's feelings, but they have Rivers and Tomlinson now and should be able to do well if they can get rid of Schottenheimer. I'm waiting for the news that the Cowboys have Norv Turner as Head Coach, Jason Garrett as Offensive Coordinator, and Ron Rivera as Defensive Coordinator.
 |  |
Uh, LK ... that sounds like a proposition! LOL
 |  |
Hey, BILL. A lot of the Charger assistant coaches have jumped ship, and others are considering it, so I don't know how well they will do next year with so many new coaches. Cowboys are certainly on the way up!
 |  |

Hi Judy! Re your 'fiasco in the rain' -- as a neophyte, I do wonder what the game would have been like without the rain.
 |  |

guess it kind of did didn't it. Just a friendly invitation in case he misses the cold . But Glenn strikes me as a smarty guy, there is no way he is going to leave the tropical temps for FL. for the cold north
 |  |

It would have been a bigger blow out if the Parriots had been there, rain or no rain! Of course, I'm not biased....
 |  |

LK - That was the nicest proposition I have received in a very long time...

 |  |
I could use a good proposition!
 |  |
Of ... at ... with ... to ... from ... along ... beside ... under ... over ... behind ... pick your proposition! Oops!
 |  |

Commercials: Bud & Doritos were the best ones, the one about the mouse was funny too.

I would loved to have seen the Saints playing the Colts last night, but would have still cheered for the Colts . With Drew Brees I think the Saints will definately be a team to contend with next More...

Daunte is a local hero here in Orlando. He went to UCF here!

Not that it helps Miami any...

Glenn & Bill, I would say the door is always open to friends, but it is too damn cold, so just come on in!
