The Red Room is a hip kicked back Denver bar that's seriously packed from open to close with an eclectic mix of Cap Hill regulars and boozers tripping up and down Colfax.

Geez, GLENN ... that song title is worse than anything on my list! I just copied the email I received from a friend in Nashville ... imagine that!

I don't think it was the Red Room and I don't remember it being on Colfax Avenue. I think it was more like the Red Barn and they had the tag line of 'A Workingman's Tavern.' I suspect it no longer exists. I haven't been there in over 22 years. I do remember it being painted red on the outside, however.

It sounds like a real dive, GLENN, and probably LOADS of fun! I'll check out that website ... thanks.

Fire Update
the threats are still the same as last night and we need lots of prayers to get through this safely.

CG, Yes, I'm getting the same thing. I thought it was a repeat of the side ads by google. I wondered about them also. Judy, great ideas from great people. What an interestingly beautiful picture. just went outside and ash is floating everywhere. cant imagine how bad it is closer to the fire. well I can, have been in that situation before and I dont think you ever forget the drama and emotion of a fire.

Rosemary: hope and pray for you and your neighbours that the fire will soon be brought under control. We had a bad fire, here, a couple of years ago - watched the glow from the balcony for nights on end, but our wonderful firefighters beat it in the end.

Rosemary - I'll be thinking of you and everyone else down in Vic until the wonderful firefighters get the situation under control. I was 10 years old when we had a fire come within 50m of our house on the NW outskirts of Sydney and the feelings and fear have stayed with me ever since. Keep your doors and windows closed and watch your roof - some ash can be still smoldering.
