Can anyone help me with a flower ID from the photo on Medium? What is interplanted with the salmon pink hyacinth in the middle? It seems to be a spring bulb bed, but I can't think of a spring bulb that's pale pink and shorter than a hyacinth (it looks too late for spring crocus and I've never heard of a pink crocus).

You know, one of these days, Sudokuland is going to rise up, buy me a plant ID guide for me and tell me to shut up. I do tend to make a nuisance of myself asking for plant names.

No, no! Keep asking, Plum! I learn a lot that way!!! Right now I'm trying to learn the native plant life of the coastal sage scrub area in which I and my students live! My poor wee brain is going to overload soon! But I love learning!

Once I was invited to a hiking tour for docents in a Palos Verdes canyon. It was so exciting to learn all the plant life here. Especially when we got to the blackberry patch! The guide almost lost us there. We kept telling we'll catch up as we busily stuffed our mouths with the juicy sweet More...

G-mo, many years back, I had a lovely ladycat named taffeta, who was being picked on savagely by my other cats. She really needed a good one-cat family. I thought my back-fence neighbors would be a perfect home for her, so I talked to them about giving them a kitty, and she said no, her husband More...

G-Mo, I grew up on a farm where cats where just a part of the barn. It wasn’t until I had a place of my own and had a house cat that I realized just how special and what characters they could be. We lost our cat, Rolex, of 17 years about a year ago. He had traveled all over the U.S. with us. We More...

As I look across the vines behind the house I can see the digger ( called a back hoe in the USA, I believe) that belongs to our friends she is bright yellow and along her loong arm can clearly be seen DORIS in large black letters. Even the French who wish digging jobs done refer to her as Doris.

Plum, could it be a spring star flower? They come in many different colors. I can't see the leaves clearly, but the flower is about the right size.

A beautiful winter day here, not too cold, dry roads and fluffy snow to shovel.
Photo takes me back to my alto saxophone days, playing Dave Brubeck's "Take Five". I tickle the ivories too.
