Alaska is beautiful, and lots of it very rough and rugged. We saw bits of it when we stopped at ports along the way on an Alaskan cruise several years ago. I wish we had spent more time on the land - - it was awesome! I'll post some of our Alaska pics on my gallery for all to enjoy. . .

Sandy - We have heard that the Alaskan Cruise is very nice, but it is great to spend more time on land also. We have friends that were there within the last month. They really enjoyed it!

Friends are going on an Alaskan cruise next summer - the price was too high for me so I (we) will try to go another time. The planned trip includes both land and sea cruises, for 12 days total.

Sue - I'm curious as to the location of the sign and am trying to think of a place 150 miles from Stewart. Prince Rupert, perhaps? Or Terrace?

maen all! the road signs on the al-can highway are quite a bit nicer than the road itself. the heavy trucking and huge rv's take their toll each summer and nature has its way all winter. great ride though! the thick clouds of mosquitoes and gnats are hard to get used to.

I'll bet Senator Stevens wishes he were looking at that sign today

I lived in Alaska way back when it was still a territory. Loved it and have wondered why I didn't go back after I finished college. Have been back only once since then and still loved it!

The weekend is here.
With no possibilities from Northern Territory in 21:46 minutes I headed North to Alaska with boundless possibilities - all cold though.

Actually I have a few possibilites for the long weekend ... starting with a coastal bike ride in about an hour, Great way to start the weekend.

using a compass to draw a couple arcs, I bet you could pinpoint exactly the location of this sign on a map. I think I'll look into it after I awake on the morrow.
